Another adventure

And so I've finally quit my job and joined somewhere else. It's really a contrast. I get paid slightly more, but work a lot less. Previously, i'd be working till 1-2 am everyday. Now, i hardly work an hour in a day n for the rest of the day, try to find work for myself to do. Realise that a lot of people here are just flying around to earn per diem and eat on company's expenses. They don't even need to be at the place they fly to! Well, that's not a difficult skill to learn, but being a professional, i feel that i have more integrity than that... so i'll still try to find a good reason on why i should be at a certain place.

For example, today at around 10.30am there was some gas leak in the office building we were in. Everyone in the building was evacuated but they somehow forgot to inform us, the auditors. Wonder why... By the time someone came around to check that the entire floor was cleared, we realised that no one was left n everyone was wearing a mask. But we tot it'll clear soon so we left most of our things in the building. After we had our early lunch, we were informed that the building will be closed for the day. My colleague who only had his blackberry felt that it's ok since he can work with just his blackberry. Seriously, if he can just work with his blackberry, why in the world is he here at all?? Fortunately for me, i had my laptop but no charger. Oh well, i can still work on the remaining laptop batt. But basically i went gym n slept in the afternoon. That sums up how idle this new place is.

In a way, i felt cheated. The new company promised me about 50% travelling but when i saw the schedule, it looked like 90%! True enough, on my 3rd day of work, i had to fly already. In 2 weeks, i've only been in singapore for 3 days. And the 3 days is really to get myself settled n logistics done up. Then i was ready to go. I mean, fly.

Suddenly, i really feel that i dun wanna fly around anymore. I dun like the idea of travelling so much for business. So should i change my job soon again n say it's cos of over-travelling? But what if they send me to switzerland? Will i still be complaining? Hmmm..........
