Emotional vs professional
My boss is very emotional. When he becomes passionate about something, it's always about THAT something. Everything else has to get out of his way. For example, the recent fraud case in Shanghai. Everyone who was on leave was being called back. The entire team had to be in Shanghai, whether or not he/she can speak or read chinese. Even my Thai colleague came over and wondered what she was going to do cos even her English is CMI. End up she was shopping and eating good food.
So now, the latest passion of my boss is to collaborate with external auditors. He started making everyone work OT (including himself) over weekends and up to 2am on weekdays. Then during the meeting with the external auditors, the partner said "Now is TOO EARLY to do detailed planning. There's no way we can estimate these things properly at this stage, but your estimates are definitely wrong. We will look at this later in July.". And so on. My boss got nothing to say after being scolded, except that he "understands and agrees". My colleagues are all super angry at the boss for making them OT for nothing and not listening to them when they told him that there's no point in doing this now.
Lesson learnt. Next time, i need to find a boss who's professional and logical, rather than emotional and irrational. He's acting like a woman!
