Just before bath

Decided to update my blog while running the bath. Will be checking out of here tomorrow morning n check into fullerton in taipei tomorrow. Told the client how reluctant we were to go to ministry of sound, so he decided to bring us to a piano lounge bar n another live rock band after the live jazz at brown sugar. Wonder how long i can last since i need sleep badly.

Just had teppanyaki for dinner. Jap food in taipei rox man! The kobe beef was, of cos, excellent. The beef rolls, oysters, dessert, everything. I so need exercise. Discussed with my dad abt my job offer n he thinks i should stay in pwc since i'll be a manager when i fly back to singapore. Well, i really hope i'm making the rite decision. I dunno what to tell the other company now..

Ok, my bath's done. Time to get clean.

Just discussed with my senior mgr on my impending move to change job. Again, my decision was swayed. The opportunities for me are good at both sides. I'm lost again. How do I decide?

To n fro

It's only wednesday n i wish i'm back in singapore oredi. I'm recovering, but still sick. We're moving to the hotel in taipei this fri. The client knew that I wanted to catch a movie at the 8-storey high cinema in taipei n said that he can help get us tickets for this saturday afternoon's show. N before that, he'll bring us to the original taiwan's ding tai feng. He oso had fri nite planned out, with good dinner, then jazz pub, then some other pub/disco (can't remember the name), then ministry of sound. My senior mgr n i are still thinking how to get out of his plans..

Just took my medicine n almost puked. The medicine stinks! Earlier, pwc taiwan sent a car to pick us up from hsinchu to taipei so that we could hv dinner together. Met up with 7 other people from pwc taipei office. Most of the time, we were discussing how ridiculous the client was. For example, today he was in our room n wanted to ask this girl a simple question. He called her n found out she was on the line with someone else. He asked her to hang up n go to our room immediately as he had something to ask her. It's not a big thing, but he waited 10 seconds n called her again to remind her to go to our room immediately. N that girl sat quite far away from the room..

I wonder how elinn is doing. Hope she's doing fine n having fun with that group of friends..

Lady, start your engine..

Started work today. Got myself in tuned with the ongoings of the work environment n started chatting to several people. The Finance director brought us out to lunch at a very nice aborogines' restaurant. Continued working till evening when the client brought us to a japanese place n my senior mgr insisted on footing the bill without realising it costed almost SGD300!! Gosh.. but the food was good too. Pity i was feeling nauseous at that time from motion sickness in my client's new audi n couldn't enjoy my sashimi n stuffs. I even wanted to throw up when i smelt the raw prawns n shell fishes! I mean, they're supposed to be my fav!!

Went back to my hotel n was discussing with my senior mgr over the phone on tomorrow's strategies when some guy budged into my room. N i was half naked. Apparently that guy was somewhat drunk n couldn't remember his room n didn't hv his key so the counter staff opened the door for him (he thought my room was his!). ARGH!!! I was so pissed, but figured i was in a lose-lose situation so let it go. Just realised that there's this new can of potato chips next to my flask. Confirmed with my senior mgr that he doesn't hv it. I really hope it was left there by the housekeepers...

Sick

Felt feverish when i woke up today. In fact, i even puked whatever i ate for breakfast out. Fortunately it wasn't much since i didn't hv appetite.. The client was quite nice and arranged for me to see a specialist. The doc said my temperature was 38.6 degrees, n i had lung infection. Gave me lots of medicine, and a super disgusting bitter cough mixture.

So i stayed in the hotel to rest while my senior mgr went down to the client's place. Felt so bad for not being able to work. Sighz.. The hotel staff were quite good too. They delivered porridge to my room for lunch without me even asking them. Took my medicine n fell back asleep again. My sleep was always interrupted by occassional telephone calls from various people. Even fae called me to find out what i wanted from HK (yeah she's there now). Decided to eat man tou and dou jiang for dinner, so rented 1 of the hotel's bicycle (it's free!) n cycled out to the shops. Bought what i wanted n headed back. Now waiting for my senior mgr to call me from the client's place cos we're going to hv a conference call to discuss work matters. At least then i won't feel so bad.. :)

Taiwan again

Flew back to taiwan this morning with my senior mgr n got to taipei early afternoon. Took a cab to our hotel in hsinchu n it's huge! Cosy with the designers' style living area, a comfy bed, complimentary marshmellows/sweets/chocs n free internet. Wanted to take a train to taipei n catch a movie at the 8-storey high screen. In the end, we took the train that headed in the wrong direction n were stuck in the middle of some ulu place in taiwan. We only realised it after 2 hours of standing in the train! So we had to take a train back n were back in hsinchu at about 7.30pm. Gave up the idea of going to taipei since by the time we got there, it would be about the time we should be heading back. Which means we wasted lots of train ticket money, but charging to client so whatever. I oso gave up the idea of meeting chen wende to collect my belts n other tkd stuffs.

Met up with my client for a good dinner somewhere just outside hsinchu. Chen wende was so nice. He drove all the way to hsinchu just to pass me all the stuffs.. I better buy him dinner next time i see him! Just got back to the hotel n will probably bathe soon. I'm quite drowsy after all the cough medicine. Have only 1 dosage left. Will plonk to bed soon i believe..

Seafood..

Woke up in the afternoon on Fri, so missed my dept day outing at east coast. Elinn called to play pool, so i picked her n peiqi up. Headed to east coast since my secretary kept pestering me on my disappearance act n felt the need to "show face". Spent some time at east coast coffee beans before playing pool. At 6+pm, i headed to look for my colleagues before going to changkat. They were apparently going to hv seafood dinner there! It's SEAFOOD dinner (i LOVE seafood..)!! N my bonus is probably in the crabs n prawns n lobsters etc. But i couldn't abandon elinn with peiqi, so i decided to still go changkat.

While at changkat, i received the arrow from big sir to be this year's tkd national tournament organising committee chairman. Damn. Peiqi volunteered to be the chairman, but i dun quite trust her with it.. for good reasons.. :) Went back to east coast bernie's after training to meet elinn's sis n cousin n friends. Elinn almost got into a fight with a guy who was quarrelling with a girl (girlfriend most likely) due to lack of tact. Peiqi n i decided to leave her with her sis n relatives as they went for supper at bedok. We thought elinn might just eat something there. Spent the night at peiqi's place doing up the database for the tournament, then left her place at 5am.

Slept till this afternoon when we went out again. This time we ate breakfast cum lunch at old airport. As usual, elinn didn't eat. As it was late evening by then, we couldn't think of where to chill so i chose the worst place. White sands library cafe. We sat there for a while then headed to my place to pack my luggage for my early flight tomorrow (yeah, back to taiwan..). Went for class after.

Elinn insisted on going to clarke quay so we went to indochine where elinn found another friend, wendy. Dun exactly hv a good impression of her since she was part of that group of pple, so i left early with peiqi. Hope wendy knows how to take care of elinn since she was drinking on an empty stomach (empty for many days). I'll be flying off in 6 hours n really dun wish for anything to happen to elinn when i get back, or even while i'm in taiwan..

Stop the clock!

Saw a doc yesterday late morning then headed to office for the afternoon conference call. Was discussing with my senior mgr in preparation for the call when elinn called. She was crying really badly. I was stunned. I mean, she doesn't exactly cry u know. Anne had fallen for someone else. I didn't know what to say as i was in a major state of shock n still trying to recover from it. On the other hand, i was in the middle of my discussion with my mgr. She hung up. I quickly called peiqi to ask her to talk to elinn cos i was afraid she might do stupid things. Yeah, she's just so capable of doing such things.. Settled many other things in office for other clients. Had a couple of conference calls. Wished the time would just stop so that i could do everything in 1 minute.

Quickly left office n looked for my younger sis at cine since the car was with her. Zoomed down to peiqi's house to pass her my medicine (i sort of got them for her since i made her sick, as she claims..I only kept my cough mixture since i had been coughing quite badly for more than a week), then together we headed to elinn's place. By then it was evening. Picked elinn up n headed home to get changed. Apparently my mum was on leave, so sent her to kovan (with elinn n peiqi shivering in the back seats). Headed to coffee beans near chomp chomp. We chatted for a long while then went down to elinn's class. Took class for elinn, then decided to do something different. Bought some desserts n drinks n drove to kallang river where we sat there n sung. Peiqi got inspired n we decided to sing karaoke. Brought them to a place i tot was good n cheap n sung from midnite to 2am. Went to geylang for dim sum supper n sent them home. I was pretty much knocked out from my cough medicine by then. The doc gave me something quite strong n it made my limbs soft n numb.

Fell asleep before i knew it jus to wake up at 12+pm today! Gosh.. my colleagues n secretary were frantically calling me. Think i'll probably go show face later. N elinn's thinking too much again now. Better bring her out for some fresh air soon before she stares out of her house window n ... Guess the only consolation is that she stays on the 2nd floor, but still...

Back temporarily..

Just got back from my taiwan hol. Pretty eye-opening n tkd-inspiring in a way. Went to many night markets, drank quite a bit (uh-huh), sang karaoke, basically spent lots of late nights out with my taiwanese friends. Zhiqiang's sis even took leave from work to keep us company. Felt quite bad.. but she's really happening man. During the trip, i oso had some heart talks with a couple of people. Well, lots of stuffs happened, both good n bad. On the last day, I spread my flu, sore-throat, etc. to peiqi, which of cos wasn't a good thing.

Surprisingly, or not, my entire family together with my 2 nieces came to pick me up n headed for dinner. Wanted to see a doc but the clinic was closed so will probably go tomorrow instead. Well, i'll be flying back to taiwan again this Sunday. According to my taiwanese friends, my client is apparently the top 5 employer in taiwan n very "famous". To me, i just know that my client is really tough. Hope all goes well..

Have to make a decision in the next 2 days on whether to accept my new job offer..........

After a good rest

Went back yesterday morning n slept the entire day, waking up occassionally just to take medicine. Felt much better today n settled most outstanding stuffs. Decided to buy the same hp from the same shop since all singtel shops did not carry the model anymore. Wanted to get back my same model since i did a backup of everything in my previous hp just before i lost it. I didn't wanna risk losing some precious messages so i decided to get the same hp to restore the hp. It worked! YAY!!! I'm so happy again..

Now just to wait for the cable man to come n tell us how much effort it takes to cable the house. Hopefully it won't be too much trouble so my dad would agree to it.. :)

Down, not out

This sucks. I'm sick after the satay sauce lok lok in malacca. Went to see a doc last nite n concussed till about 6+am. Had an MC, but still came to office. Got so many pages of emails, it's not funny. Told the doc that i definitely need to heal in a couple of days since i dun wanna screw my taiwan hol (esp. when we're training 1 session there too..). The doc gave me all sorts of funny medicine n i woke up with a slightly better throat, but a major headache. Really hope i'll recover by tonight. Is that possible?

Oh, n i'm supposed to settle my car loan, SCV cabling, taiwan re-visit (for work), new job n soccer balls by today. Shucks.

Outdated wardrobe

Peiqi saw the state i was in when i got back from malacca since i met up with her rite after coming back as she knew where to find the cobbler. She insisted on checking my taiwan luggage as she didn't think too highly of my fashion sense. So right after class n supper, both dehua n her popped by to check out my wardrobe. Fortunately i had done a "clean-up" previously with someone else who had good fashion sense before. After throwing out all the clothes in my wardrobe, she barely found 10 pieces of tops that "can make it". She was critical abt everything else! N know what? I actually got this pinkish belt together with someone else in London (the same person who cleaned up my wardrobe previously. I forgot the brand or name of shop i got it from) that i never had the chance to wear since i didn't hv jeans. I finally bought a pair of jeans a few days ago from levis for 140 bucks to wear the belt n peiqi actually didn't think too highly of the belt! Whatever, i insisted on wearing the belt so..

After combing the entire wardrobe, peiqi asked me for 200 bucks to purchase new tops. I'm like "WHAT!". I mean, i've got tons of clothes, why do i need more?? She thought most of my clothes really cannot be worn outside the bedroom. Hmm.. doesn't anyone appreciate the clothes i have??

Back!

I just got back from church camp in malacca. Forced myself to sleep early on Tues nite instead of going thumpers as i was to reach tuas at 7.30am. And that is after picking 3 pple up from various locations. I'm part of the convoy driving up to malacca. There were 660 of us heading up to hotel equatorial in malacca n some of us (like me) are driving up. For the 1st time, i realise travelling together in a group could be fun! Especially since we had walkie-talkies to entertain one another. Jeremiah was so funny with his captain speech while heather was trying to get pple listen to her sing. Gosh.

Anyway, the church camp was excellent. My team (named irresistable - of cos i tot of it) got 1st for ultimate frisbee!! YAY!!! Ok, there were just 2 teams. But still.. that game was REALLY tiring man, even worse than playing basketball. I oso played tennis n volleyball since i didn't bring my swimsuit to enjoy the jacuzzi n suana.

I got all my answers i needed on the 1st day of church camp. I even got over the fact that i lost my new hp. Rite, i lost it on Tues while having lunch with fae at far east sq. I left it on the seat n totally forgot abt it. The worst thing was that it had my new 512Mb MMC in it.. I was so sad that i drove aimlessly for hours in circles after that. Anyway, God bless whoever who took it. I'm going to get a new hp again soon, probably the same one since i liked it quite a lot.

I wanna start anew. I'm thinking of relocating somewhere, anywhere. Just to get out of Singapore. For a couple of years maybe. While in malacca, peiqi managed to settle all the admin matters for our taiwan trip next week. Yup, i'll be going there from next thurs for a week with peiqi n dehua, come back for a couple of days then fly back there to work for another week. Peiqi's so excited abt the taiwan trip, planning where to go, what to do, etc. N we arranged to go down to one of the clubs in taiwan to train. 1 of the guys we're meeting there, xiao zhiqiang, swore to make us drunk for revenge. N peiqi's looking fwd to clubbing in taiwan. I believe we'll probably be dancing to faye wong's music in techno beat. Yuck.

Techy n Holy

PC show was generally disappointing. Didn't bother going on fri, went cell group instead. On sat, my mum woke me up at 10.30am to send her to ferry terminal, so i decided to go PC show again after. Only bought a 512Mb mmc for my hp, n usb2.0 hub there. Headed down to SLS to rma my ram n bought a usb bluetooth dongle that extends the range of 120-150m. Not that it's of much use, but since it was a dollar difference.. Then headed down to funan to get the linksys 7dbi antenna. Not as effective as i hoped. Had dinner at heather's place before rushing to class (why am i always rushing to class??).

Met dehua n peiqi for supper. Peiqi borrowed more dvds from me that nite. I continued with my POT n read newspapers at the same time. Guess i believe in multi-tasking.. Before i realise, it was already almost 4am. Forced myself to sleep n woke up at 9am for church. Amazing how i did it, but yeah, i guess it was a pretty holy week for me. Met up with fae after lunching with my cell group. She invited me to her place that she single-handedly designed n paid for. I was impressed! And she volunteered to help me out with my house too!! :) Went to orchard to look for levis jeans n bought a pair of nike golf shorts. Though the pair of shorts costed more than $60 n doesn't hv lining (it's really a simple pair of shorts), i just had to buy it.. it's the kind that is "love at 1st sight".....

Met elinn at pasir ris park. Felt strange cos her cousins, aunt n mum were there. Had dinner at jalan kayu. Ok, i'm really going on a diet n exercise plan real soon. My tummy seemed to hv doubled its size.. i'm serious!

It's here!!

Yes, today's the PC show n for some reason i'm so excited!! Gosh, i rallied gerald, sengy n geraldine to meet up at 4.30pm. Pity moky can't leave at that time, so too bad!! Oh, elinn might join, depending i guess..

I've got my shopping list ready n re-written it like many times. It's unbelievable. N at the same time, i'm trying to plan for a short 8 day trip to nepal or cambodia or vietnam or wherever similiar (u get the idea) like week after next after my training, instead of going bangkok for 3 days. Wonder if it'll work out. Will probably go with my turkey friend since she's been quite unhappy abt me not going turkey with her since 2 years ago.. Now to think my pc stuffs.. yaba daba doo!

Cluttered

Going to collect my car from servicing later, then heading to parkway for "ladies nite" with my cell group. Promised elinn to go supper with her tonite cos i was really too tired n lazy last nite, but not sure if she can make it. Spent a whole afternoon planning the taiwan trip with peiqi. Dehua's probably coming along n we're going there to meet xiao zhiqiang. He would hv just finished his NS then. Tomorrow onwards is PC show n it's getting me really excited!

My days are all packed. I'll probably go bangkok this sunday (sacrificing a bit of PC show??) till tues, then head to malacca from wed morning till sat. Sunday would be another holy day, then training on following week n free pwc movie (mr n mrs smith) on wed. So when am i exactly going to taiwan? 1st week of july.. i've taken almost 2 weeks leave then. Dunno if it's apparent that i'm clearing leave desperately, but it's a sign that i've decided on leaving pwc. More or less, unless they increase my pay by 50% in June. Oh well...
