No mood for work

I'm so lazy. I've got so much to do, yet i dun feel like doing anything. Don't even feel like practising my pattern. Since i came back, i've been burning DVDs non-stop. Wanna play age of empires 3 but the dvd-burning is taking up too much system resources. I'm so bored!!!

Maybe i should start watching the korean drama serials after all..

Makeover

I'm supposedly working from home today. After lunch, I sent my grandma home n met fae for coffee. She determined that my polo tee, shorts n slippers were insufficient for Fluid at far east sq so we went back to my place to change despite my protests. While she was ransacking my wardrobe of clothes (half of which are TKD gi), i was busy burning DVDs..

In the end, she plucked my eye-brows, decided my clothes n accessories, made up my face n did something to my hair. Conclusion: No one recognised me at fluid. Ok, they were shocked. And so was I. Still, i managed to grab some drinks n dinner with them. Fae was almost totally gone (super-high mode, talking loudly n erratically) within an hour. Picked elinn up from her gym n headed home. Not sure how i can remove the make-up. Maybe i should just leave it there..

Family outing

Just got back from genting. The causeway jam was horrendous, despite paying 3 times the price for going through 2nd link. Basically, i was stuck there for more than an hour.

I will NEVER go genting again with my sister n her family. Or rather, just my older sis. Have u seen anyone carrying a backpack of BREAD everywhere?? I just did. My older sis screams at every little thing, even while watching people do free fall or play bumper boat. She only allowed me to sit the STUPID flying jumbo n i REFUSED to sit the teacup with her. I was so bored n pissed at the waste of money n time that i decided to take a more thrilling ride with my bro-in-law (who was oso quite irritated with my sis) at the flying chairs. At night, i convinced my younger sis to go for the motion master with me as she was oso too scared to sit anything (even the flying jumbo), while my older sis went shopping (i.e. sampling of food around the place). But it turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. The stupid motion master was playing some CARTOON!! Can u believe it?? Even my younger sis was laughing and saying that it's the 1st time she ever opened her eyes during motion master (she was forced to sit it with my brother last time). And we decided not to watch movie there cos i've basically seen everything they're screening (king kong, narnia n promise). ARGH!!!!

And it's not only my older sis who's weird. My younger sis wasn't behaving anywhere better in HK. Firstly, we had to visit ALL the cd shops to find HER korean soundtrack. By the 1st day, we spent almost all our cash on her korean drama serials dvds. I suspect we bought every korean drama serial there was. Then she had to drop by all the chinese bookstores (which i will somehow end up in the recipe section). And she'll start looking for the places that they film her HK drama serials. For example, we went everywhere to search for THAT haagen daaz she saw in one of the HK drama serials. In the end, we found it at hyatt hotel (think it was the 10th store we tried?) n had to eat the fondue there. She was also snapping lots of pictures of the HK airport cos she watched a HK drama serial on pilots which filmed half the show in the airport or something..

I just realised that my leave has officially ended. But where's my rest?? Think i'm going to turn mentally unbalanced soon..

HK brief recap

Different people do different things at the same place. Most people go HK to shop. On the 1st day, my younger sis n I went to their "sim lim sq" n did a bit of walking along the shopping streets. After that, it was climbing of hills n mountains for THREE consecutive days! Unwittingly, we climbed the 2nd highest peak (almost 1km high) of HK in lantau island on the 2nd day. By the 3rd day, my legs suffered from abrasion while my younger sis's legs' blood vessels burst. So i started walking around in my 3-qtr pants instead of my jeans. Geez.. our legs were coming apart man.. But we still managed to eat some nice food to compensate for our long climbs and walks. And now we've to answer to everyone why we did not buy any clothes n stuffs.. Of cos, the 5-6 days spent in HK were very fruitful. So glad that the weather was cool n excellent for our expeditions.

Got back today at 1pm, then rushed down to great world for Narnia with my cell group at 3+pm. Pretty good, though not as fantastic as Lord of the rings. Then had dinner with my family at junction 8 ding tai feng as my brother insisted on something good as usual. Now i desperately need rest for my morning drive to genting at 4am, which is around 4.5 hours time! I need a break!!!!

Taking off

Going to HK tomorrow morning at 8am. N i just finished packing 10 min ago. Today's quite a disaster. Apart from the fact that i had breakfast, 2 lunches, sinful tea time (7-layer choc cake, ice-cream, etc), dinner, 2 rounds of drinks... i still went down to audit stf who were apparently not ready. Sent them the entire list of documents i need from them a month ago, but they hadn't got them yet. And they wanted to give them to me end of the week?? Waste my time man! But i got most stuffs after i told them that the fact that they didn't hv documents ready would go into the audit report..

Rite, i've just paid for my house n am officially poor. So i'll probably just eat very little in HK as far as possible n walk away all the excesses i've accumulated. Then i'll turn out skinny! :) N i won't access internet throughout the trip (back on 25th dec then going genting on 26th dec morning). Which means i won't be updating my blog either.

Off target

There are just about ten more days left n my weight maintains status quo. It's not good news for me indeed. Watched king kong with my dad n sis on fri afternoon (while working from home..) at great world. Some people clapped after the show. I thought it was quite nice, but not THAT nice that you had to clap.

Watched The Promise today at great world again. It's definitely over-rated. Such a stupid show! People who run so fast they can run over water n fly, going into outer space at the end of the show, running back against time (cos they run too fast??). Most people who watched it were china people i think. And i had this pair of china ladies sitting next to me providing commentary throughout the show. SO IRRITATING!

Tomorrow i'll be auditing STF. So unexciting. Hoping to finish it within 2-3 hours then meet fae to get her discount card for HK. Yes, she shops so much that she even has discount cards from HK! Apparently she bought loads of clothes while being there that they gave it to her. Probably she spent thousands of dollars on clothes??

Oi!

During lunch yesterday, i had heaps of bak kut teh at the place opp the railway station. I decided to skip dinner. Then i just had to visit my office pantry n realise there were boxes of cakes n cookies that look SO GOOD! Walked 4 flights of staircase to digest my bak kut teh n started eating the cakes n cookies. In the end, i didn't skip dinner. Even had dessert for supper after watching the musical with my family! And of all people, i met JC in the theatre. We had to sit in the same row..

The musical's called Oi! Sleeping Beauty. Quite funny, by selena tan. They even had the acting cast run across the sitting rows during the show. Don't know if i should catch their next broadway beng. Guess it'll be determined by my cash flow.

Working from home today. I'm feeling SO lazy.. let's hope i'll have the motivation to go down to changkat tonite for some training. Or at least burn those fats n workout the tummy!

Extracted from another blog (not in fantastic language, but the idea is there)

signs of first world status. we have arrived

we are a developed nation. our people are well educated, well travelled, well informed, cultured, rich and disciplined. and to consolidate our first world status, we have the following to make sure we remain there forever.

1. to prevent our people from falling back to their old third world habits, we have laws to fine them for spitting.

2. we also have laws to jail them for cheating bus fares.

3. we also jail them when they made reckless posts in the cyber world.

4. we also levy a $100 charge for entry to casino. this is to ensure that the mature ones are allowed into the casino, ie those who can afford to pay $100. price of maturity is $100.

5. to qualify to be the president of the island, one must run a $200 million organisation. the quality of a presidential candidate is $200 million worth.

6. we also subsidised those who can afford to acquire the taste for arts and culture on their visits to our world class theatre.

7. we also protect our vulnerable senior citizens by putting all their savings under lock and key when they reached 55. just in case they throw away all their monies.

8. and the conduct and proceedings in our parliament are most civil and distinguished. no throwing of chairs and tables. members of parliament take turns to ask questions politely.

9. we have the biggest stockmarket in the region. and most of the stocks are attractively priced that they are popularly known as penny stocks.

10. we have the best govt that plans for the people and telling the people how to live their lives, from cradle to grave.

11. we paid our politicians and senior civil servants so well that we are corruption free. at the lower level, the people are not paid so well, but are also corruption free.

they are building a casino in my country. but they said i must pay $100 before i can go in to look see look see. but foreigners are allowed to go in for free. the citizen has no honour in his own land.i think it is a matter of time before singaporeans got caught and send to jail for using the passports of their maids to enter the casino, to save on the $100 entry fee. some may borrow passports from foreign workers from china or india to gain entry, and also got caught and send to jail.my country, my home, my casino and my jail, but only place where you can't find singaporeans is my casino.

Stay at home!

Almost had a quarrel with my mum this morning over my brother. She was commenting that my brother is going out every other day since he came back from tekong. So i asked her "What do you want him to stay at home for?". She was like "Just stay at home lah! Go out for what? Maybe 1 or 2 times a week ok, but cannot everyday.". Then I asked her the same question again. Basically, she has no answer. She just doesn't want him to go out which i think is ridiculous. She was quoting some examples, like my god-brother who doesn't go out. So i told her that he's basically at home using the internet. And what does he do online? Don't know. Would she rather my brother stay home n surf porn? She said that he can read books n newspapers n blamed us for not telling him to read more. What the heck! Like someone will actually say "Ok, I'll read books becos u tell me to"?? N i thought i was the only one who was living in my own world. Guess i now know where i got my genes from.. But puh-lease. Just let him take responsibility of his own life. And let us take responsibility of our own lives too.

Yay! My younger sis got her bonus and is starting to pay me back some money.. :) At least for the latest sydney trip n the upcoming HK trip.

No discipline

Wanted to workout yesterday at the gym. I even brought my gym gear! Ended up at oosters having drinks, mussels, fries n chocolate mousse with my pwc colleagues. Sighz.. then it was age of empires nite again. Stayed up till 2+am before forcing myself to stop.

Went to JB with my family for dinner tonite cos my brother got his exit permit n wanted to go there desperately. I ate SO much again. :( Had 2 huge plates of butter crayfish apart from the other food. I better do some jogging tomorrow or something man.. oh, but i've gotta catch a musical tomorrow. Shit, gotta postpone my workout plans again..

Addiction

It's a sleepy day for me. I hardly slept at all. Was so full from the wedding dinner last night and decided not to sleep too early. But I just had to do the stupidest thing.. play my age of empires 3. Before i knew it, kokok started crowing. I realised it was 4am. I was like "Shit, i'm going to stop after attacking them." And so it was 6+am when i finally stopped playing. Slept for a couple of hours before my younger sis woke me up. I'm late for work again!! Well, at least I completed Act1. :)

My younger sis was booking tickets to the musical this morning online and I realised that she knew her VISA mini credit card number and expiry date at her fingertips. And her card is really a supp card from me...........

kelong ah..

Didn't have time to update my blog the last couple of days cos i was busy power-boating from 9.30am to 7.30pm! Or at least trying to learn how to do it. The theory was strangely quite interesting and the practical was good fun. Learnt how to rescue people who dropped out of the boat and berth it. Today, we took a drive from Sembawang to Punggol Marina and stopped by the kelong (one of the few left in singapore). It was like a mini-excursion. I used to think that Singapore didn't have any nice beaches despite being an island. Now I think that Singapore's nice beaches are just not open to public generally. I didn't know we had so many islands that exist n we can actually stay over at! Now to think about the cost of owning a boat... :)

Last night was rushing to tkd class after power-boat. And for some reason, I had to pick my younger sis up from marine parade after class.. Tonight, while I was looking for seafood dinner with my younger sis after power-boat (inspired by the kelong), tammy called me to ask if i was reaching yet. I was like "Huh? Go where? I'm in Sembawang leh." And she reminded me that I was supposed to attend my NTU tkd friend's wedding dinner at hyatt! I can't believe I totally forgot about it (i mean, he gave me the invitation card like 2 days ago?)! Zoomed home n got changed. Couldn't possibly wear my t-shirts, shorts n slippers to hyatt although i hv almost zilch knowledge in fashion. Then rushed down to hyatt. Fortunately I was only a little late since chinese wedding dinners don't start too punctually despite what the invitation says. Caught up with my NTU tkd friends who i haven't seen for a couple of years. We usually only meet during someone's wedding dinner after all.

Now i'm feeling so full again. Stupid wedding dinner, makes me overeat once more. I also realised that the weighing machine I bought is ultra-sensitive. Without food, I'm lighter. With food, it adds 1-2kg to my weight. It sure doesn't make me feel better. Stupid machine. So now I've decided to leave it in the living room instead of my room.

Oh, and i felt so pissed off during lunch today. Had "vegetables rice" (cai fan) at this Koufu coffeeshop in Canberra (Sembawang) and ordered egg n cauliflowers. That guy actually considered them as meat items because he put a bit of minced meat into the eggs and a couple of pathetic defrosted tiny fishballs into the cauliflowers. I feel so cheated! I mean, it's not that the price of the food is high ($3.50 for everything), but I feel that he was very underhanded in doing that. Wanted to tell him off, but my younger sis stopped me. I'm so so so disgusted.

Diet or fibre?

My body was aching so much that i went for full body massage (with body scrub) yesterday evening at some spa in city hall. Feel so much better now.. ready for changkat training tonight. Met up with all my siblings at boat quay after that for dinner. Didn't wanna eat the choc fondue but i had to eat the bananas for fibre, so ... u know, it's a fine balance between diet n fibre. I decided fibre was more important...

Damn, the MD's secretary just offered me half her rotiboy cos she doesn't wanna finish the whole thing. Ok, i'm going to train very hard later at changkat to burn up these calories. As well as the ones from last night's fondue n steak n chicken n garlic bread n seafood n .... Shit! Why does it seem like i ate so much again??

Just booked my accomodation for HK online. Also bought the MTR passes online. Now to scout for good eating places (i mean, healthy eating places..) n good DVD distributors.. Can't believe i'm going in less than 2 weeks!

Keep fit

On tuesday evening, i went to california fitness with full vigour for the 2-hour combat session. Didn't survive more than an hour and am suffering the remnants of aching bones with semi-torn hamstring. The combat session was actually quite interesting. I'd say the concept was pretty good. Went home after that for my conference call. Was SO tired i fell asleep throughout the 1.5hr call. Woke up just in time to hear my US director's ending speech..

Went to SGH for my follow-up review yesterday. The doc was trying to persuade me to get more medicine even though i've stopped it for a long time, and still have 1-month supply at home. Rushed down to my brother's POP after that. Can't believe he survived his 3-month BMT n actually passed it. Now that he's back n hanging around, he's thinking of places to go for dinner. At my expense, of course... :(

Oh, i'm recovering from my jet lag too. Slept at midnight last nite to play age of empires 3 n woke up at 8.30am this morning.. n i'm still not the latest at work.

Out of sync

I'm sleeping at Singapore hours (1+am, even after a few drinks) and waking up at Sydney hours (5am S'pore time). I don't even need an alarm clock! I wonder if this will help me reduce my weight.. So i've given my AsiaPac director a piece of my mind this morning. Or should i just say that i trashed things out with him. Spent more than an hour putting my msg across.

Will try to go gym later despite being so sleepy. I've applied for power boat lessons this weekend. And stupid SGH just sms me that i missed the appointment yesterday. Now i've gotta fix another appointment with them, probably for tomorrow morning before going down to the lawyer's. Attending my brother's POP tomorrow afternoon too. Thinking if i should just take MC tomorrow or "work from home"..

I feel so information-overloaded. Learnt quite a lot of stuffs from anne last nite abt brands (though i probably forgot at least half of it). Then elinn bought vogue for me. I've got such an overwhelming zest for fashion recently. And i'm still wondering which handphone i should buy. I'm now concentrating on dopod, nokia N80 and O2 (mini). Or should i just pay top dollar (6,000 Euro?) for a branded but not-so-functional phone like vertu, which is just an ugly magnificent body and expensive materials, nothing else..

Home sweat home

Just got back to good ol' singapore n it's freaking hot. During the plane ride home, i swapped seats with my younger sis (she took my biz class seat while i sat in the economy) n i soon realised that it was a bad choice. There was a baby on my left, and another on my rite! Which means i was squashed up. To make things worse, my plane got delayed for an hour (got squashed for an additional hour...), n i ended up going to class late. Bought chocolates for those kids from aussie too. Went home to sleep after class without even unpacking my luggage cos i was super zonked-out.

Started unpacking the next morning. The digital weighing scale i bought from paddys mkt that i thought would make me happy since it reduces 2-3kg from ur weight, decided to work properly again. Damn! Waste my money.. Had choc fondue with my younger sis n bro after lunch with the dessert wine i bought from canberra. I'm definitely going on a diet n working out plenty after the fondue. Caught up with my animes (naruto, bleach, yakitate), booked a pair of air tickets to HK for my younger sis n me, n installed age of empires 3. I'm trying not to play too much of it yet in case i get addicted once more. Ran a few errands in the evening (collect something here, pass something there) n headed to bed.

Now i'm back in office once more doing up the expense claim. This seriously is a nightmare. So many bills n receipts!!!!

Feasting

I've eaten so much in sydney, mostly in expensive restaurants like nicks, watersedge, doyles at circular quay, chinese restaurants, n kingsley tomorrow. I feel so stuffed that i'm losing all my appetite. Posh food doesn't always equate high quality food or nice-tasting food. Just as designer clothes doesn't always mean they look nice. It just means you're paying extra for the brand. Branded location, branded venue, branded view, branded whatever. It's the branding.

actually, i just wanted to say that i'll go on a diet once i'm back in singapore n aim to be half my size by end of this year. I can do it!! :)
