A380 Business!

I'm back from my "excursion" to scotland. First time taking business class on A380 (finally...), n it just feels so good. The experience is actually the same as B777-300ER, but on the 2nd level. I used to take business class all the time, n after having left UTC, i felt that i was taking it for granted. Like, i will even give up my business class seat to my sis n take her economy seat. Unfortunately i left utc before A380 came about.

Right, about the scotland trip. As usual, i sourced for the best places to have my meals. However, my stomach was suffering from jet lag n caused me to have gastrics whenever i was going for an expensive dinner. The worst was in london when i managed to book a 2-star michelin restaurant (ledbury) that costed more than SGD 160 per person. I basically threw up (probably with some gastric juices too) my bread n whatever appetisers i had. It was so sad to know that the chef's efforts just went down the bowl. Got my colleague to keep talking to me n distract me from my gastrics, so that i could keep the rest of the food in my stomach longer.

And so i got home last night, just to get my stomach to re-adjust to the timing difference again. And also my brain to re-adjust to the work back in SG. Somehow people around me are like super sian n thinking of quitting all the time. I'm now having an internal dilemma within myself if i should behave like one of them n contribute to the negative vibes or motivate them to work hard for the greater company's good (i.e. work hard on my projects). And this dilemma (and maybe also the teh-c at 4pm) is causing me to continue being awake at this hour.

Procrastination

I've been thinking about gym every single day but i never found the time or energy for it. Is it really just 三分钟热度 or that my work is zapping up all my personal time?

Or is it just an excuse for my own procrastination??

Sianz

I woke up at 4am this morning and stared at the ceiling wondering why i'm awake. It's the bloody jet lag at work! :( And the idea that i'm going to adjust to SG time zone by tomorrow, n having to adjust BACK to europe time zone next tuesday just kills me.

==> Adjustment of time zone + I'm back at work = SIANZ!

I haven't been to the gym for the longest time n i need to go make use of what i'm paying for. Should i go tonight??

Happy New Year from Italy and Germany!

The last couple of weeks had been lots of ups and downs. Seriously, Sicily had plenty of seriously STEEP slopes, and i was driving a manual car on the other side of the road! Plus the super narrow streets that you sometimes need to fold in your wing mirrors to drive through. Then again, i'm not sure if u were supposed to drive thru them either since i can't read their signs nor understand them. And who cares! Especially since i got lost half the time n another half the time got horned at for driving in the opposite direction.

It was sausages, crepes, glu wine and christmas markets in germany. Was in bonn wandering the streets (even visited beethoven's birth place), then we drove up to nuremburg or something like that, before finally flying to sicily for warmth. An increase from -3 degrees to 10 degrees was definitely fantastic!

Started with palermo where we had pastas n more pastas. Then to giardini naxos n taomina where we had pizzas and seafood. Then finally to catania n lido di noto where we stayed in some ulu pandan farm (it is not listed on any GPS) to celebrate new year's eve with a bunch of old folks n family men. This was the only non-hilton hotel we stayed in, simply because we tot nowhere would be open during new year's eve for dinner n we didn't wanna starve. This farm provided dinner... and drinks! What we didn't expect was, the drinks was free flow n the alcohol was superb!

So early this morning, on new year's day, we got up at like 6am to start driving to the airport. Based on experience, we buffered 1.5 hours to get lost. In the end, we didn't get lost and we were so damn early that neither the car rental company nor the check-in counters were opened. So we just sat there and stoned for an hour. Anyway, i'm now finally in frankfurt airport ready to head back to good ol' sunny singapore. Once again, i'm super early (like at least 8 hours early) which is the first time in my entire life. Maybe it's a good start for the new year and hopefully i will keep it up during my next trip in 1.5 weeks time to aberdeen. :)
