Festive break

Last night, I was at leona's place celebrating mooncake festival. It was one of the most untraditional celebrations where we didn't eat a single mooncake and drank reistling instead of tea. But the best part of it all was continuing our pursuit of prison break. It's DAMN addictive lor! Ended up watching till past midnight. Despite her countless requests to stay over at her place (so that she can continue watching...), i ended up going back. So yes, it's 9.15am now and i'm still too lazy to go to work. I'm exhausting all my energy fighting back the urge to continue prison break instead!

Housewarming

I was back in Beijing on Friday early afternoon and all I could think of was my 笑傲江湖! So i watched the show till 3am, woke up at 10am on saturday to continue till my colleagues came over to my house for a supposed housewarming. Gosh, i was so lethargic n lazy that i only made fruit salad to entertain them. And because I've only got one bowl and one cup (I'm staying alone so i don't need more right??), I had to get them to bring their own! Okok, sally's going to donate some of hers to me during the golden week since she's returning to singapore for good by end oct.

One of them brought absolut vodka so we were drinking a fair bit. Yet, none of them was drunk enough to be convinced that they should be watching 笑傲江湖 so we ended up watching prison break instead. Bought the seasons 1 & 2 to pass the upcoming golden week actually. They hung around in my house till almost midnight. One of them wanted to go for supper but I was really only thinking about my 笑傲江湖 so I turned down the invite with the excuse that i was tired. Uh-huh. I continued watching my show till 4am... and finally finished it on Sunday afternoon! Yup, all 40 episodes of 1 hour each i think.

Today's mooncake festival and we're allowed to leave 2 hours earlier. Going to leona's place tonight to celebrate and continue prison break... I've also prepared a couple of 欠扁问答题 for them in place of 灯谜... heh.

Brother = Spend $

My dad n bro have come n gone. For the whole week, we had the best food in beijing. Every alternate day was peking duck. I'm so glad i found the best places for the duck before they came over as i won't be able to finish the duck by myself. With my bro's huge appetite, the 3 of us usually order the whole duck, with a couple of other dishes. My verdict is still xi he ya ju. Ok, if you come to visit me (or beijing), i'll bring you there. They really have duck skin, err... i mean fats, that melt in your mouth!

During the week, my brother spent more than 10k RMB on his purchases. Or should i say, my poor dad spent more than 10k on my bro. Now my dad's not going to travel anywhere with my bro ever again. For me, i spent more than 5k buying them dinners every night. Plus the dim sum lunch.

Now i'm stuck in shandong for a week. Good and bad. If i didn't come, my brother would extend in beijing (so that i can bring him to eat good food plus massage everyday). The bad part is that i was supposed to be meeting people in beijing this week given that the CIO council is taking place there. And the council is only for a week. Nevertheless, the client's pretty nice. They have gotten a tour guide and all to bring us to climb taishan to see the sunrise this weekend. Although they will most likely take a cable car up (it's really high lor), i still don't think my heeled-shoes n working clothes are good for the journey. Moreover i didn't bring my sweater. I mean, i had all intentions to rush back to beijing asap so obviously i didn't bring any spare clothes right? Sighz.. looks like i'll have to give it a miss.

Winter's coming and i haven't gotten myself a single long john. I can just see myself not surviving the winter in beijing already.

同志们,我们现在开始培训了!

My worst nightmare had just come true. I was supposed to give a training to a client... in Chinese! And to make things worse, I've only got less than a day to prepare. On Friday, I turned off all my phones to focus on what I had to say during my session of the training in the afternoon, but I ended up being distracted as I was halfway through my last book of Harry Potter. What's wrong with me?? Just when you think all was well, one of the participants asked me if I had used a wrong terminology as it was different from their understanding last year... geez... I had to tell them it's the same thing lor. Then they had to ask me questions which i simply can't catch due to their strange beijing accent. Still, I'm glad it's over. And yes, I finished my last book of Harry Potter by Saturday noon...

My department just moved from the 15th floor to the 6th floor due to lack of space. Though somehow, this place seems a lot more crammed. My dad n brother are coming to join me in beijing for a week today. Most importantly, they'll be bringing my 22" monitor that I bought from Comex!! YAY!!!
