Joker

Like it or not, I'm a joke. I was admitted to hospital the last 3 nights n just got out of it this afternoon. The reason? Er.r. some STUPID .. digestive disorder. Complete waste of time. I didn't even want to be admitted! N i felt so internet-cum-anime-deprived. I hardly told anyone i was in hospital cos the reason was simply too ridiculous. I still can't get over it. Stupid SGH!!

pLots and pLans

When i realised that my grandma was at my house yesterday, i knew my mum must have done it again. The same old plot, so unoriginal. Yeah, i quarrelled with my mum on Sat morning. Won't describe how irritating she was, but we didn't talk since and as usual, she would deploy my grandma to convince me to give in to her. Wonderful family ties.

Changed my health screening to my birthday. An intentional effort since i dunno what i should do that day. Might as well get knocked out (after blood drawing) for half a day n before u know it, it's the end of my birthday. Great.

Settled most of my logistics for sydney. Hotel, car, air tickets, etc. Peiqi is going to join me on my 2nd week there. Hopefully she won't be too fussy abt the time i take my baths........

Bills and more bills

I really really feel so poor. My road tax is due (500 bucks). My insurances are due (4k). My car was just serviced today (400 bucks). I've gotta pay the speeding fine (170 bucks) since those blood-sucking scums rejected my appeal. Won't say who the scums are in case i get sued u know.. Just received an email for my hp bill (200 bucks). N my house (!!K). Why does money flow out so easily??

Just came back from a wedding dinner. Although i paid a bomb for it, i hardly ate anything cos i didn't eat most of the stuffs (e.g. scallops). It was basically a PwC reunion since most people were either ex-PwC or now-PwC (from staff to partners). Both bride n groom are EX-PwC that's why..

Booked a health screening package (another 300 bucks) for next Tues. Hope the doc would say i'm ok by then. But it also means another blood test...

Week of events

The entire journey was really an (un)eventful one from beginning to end. Within a week, I threw up countless times, used a wrong passport, put on drip, diagnosed with kidney infection, left my luggage in new york (yeah, the european team took my luggage without realising they had an extra!), dropped my boarding pass....... Despite everything, i still made it back to singapore on schedule, without my luggage.

Now trying to get over my jet lag since i've got a kick off meeting early in the morning tomorrow at tuas. Of all places.

Neeeedlez!

I had to visit the hospital on Monday since it was columbus day n all clinics were closed. They wanted to put me on drip until they realised i was hyperventilating at the idea of it. The scheming nurse gave me a couple of pills to make me semi-conscious then stuck the NEEDLE into me n so i was on drip n allowed them to draw blood from me. I was diagnosed with kidney infection. Whatever. It just means i've gotta take some medicine n do a thorough checkup when i'm back in singapore. The biggest pity i had was missing the TWO chocolate desserts during dinner (cos i was simply too nauseous)!!!! N each day, the meals costed USD100. Yeah, i was missing that much, though for some reason i always had appetite during breakfast. My standard fare was pancake, sausage, egg benedict, ham, yogurt, cereals, fruits, juice, croissant, etc. Every morning.

Was contemplating on the idea of heading back to singapore earlier, but there was too much logistics involved (car renting, changing air tix, hotel room early check-out, food, etc). Anyway, i was already getting slightly better with the aid of the medicine, as much as i hate to admit since i haven't gotten over the evil-scheming nurses n docs..

Yesterday, the wind was so strong i literally had to hold on to something to prevent myself from being blown away. I'm serious! So i decided to drop the idea of golfing n went outlet shopping instead. Out of the 170 stores, i only recognised a few of them, namely adidas, nike, bose n sony. Adidas was so SO cheap! But i'm a poor damsel who doesn't have much money to spare so only bought a couple of tops n shorts although i spent 2 hours in the shop. Also got another pair of shorts from nike. I really lack shorts. I was pretty much impressed with sony's wega engine running on their plasmas, quality similiar to(if not surpassing) that of hitachi's crystallis.

Woke up so early this morning from some nightmare i dun remember anymore. Going for breakfast soon. I can already smell my egg benedict.... :)

Journey to the west

Had a bad start when i took my younger sis's passport to check in unknowingly. Even worse when i actually got through all my customs checks! Was having breakfast at kris lounge when i realised i was holding my sister's passport n quickly got her to give it back to me. After drawing the attention of several police and immigration officers, i finally got my passport back although it meant the possible termination of an immigration officer..

The 18 hour flight was terrible as my stomach wasn't working too well. I threw up twice n couldn't eat most of the very nice business class food (like lobsters, crab salad, etc). My gastrics didn't allow me to sleep in peace either. Not wanting to kill my stomach, i had very light dinner in new york.

Now i'm finally at chatham bars inn at cape cod. Apparently, this is 1 of the world's leading hotels n i can just see why. My room's big, with a balcony that overlooks the atlantic ocean since my room's just next to the boat house. Think i've got the best since it's near the main building too. As usual, eating good food just meant throwing up for me. I threw up my dinner last nite even though i didn't eat much n basically i'm feeling so weak now i dun think i've got much energy left in me except to take a bath. Ok, i shan't go into the details of how huge that bath tub is...

Going for breakfast now. I really hope something goes into my stomach n STAYS there. Seriously, i need some food in me to burn n keep myself warm. It's FREEZING cold here man!

Empty vessel

The last few days were crazy. I had food poisoning, terrible gastrics, gastric flu, etc. Basically, i cleaned out my stomach of everything possible, except the organs. N my weighing machine refuses to reflect my weight loss (or at least fluid loss??). Stupid machine. Spent most of my time sleeping n watching fullmetal alchemist. I've still got another 20 episodes. Wonder if i can finish them before i fly off to NY tomorrow morning. But i dun wanna sleep too much in the plane either since i've planned the shows to watch during the 18-hour flight. I'm becoming a tv-addict.

I've officially purchased my new house at tanjong rhu. The people i deal with (e.g. banker, lawyer, financial adviser...) do not believe that i'm buying the condo on my own, especially since i'm only 26 years old. I dunno if i should be proud of myself either, though i dun feel any form of accomplishment. Maybe it's not too big a deal.

Damn, my stomach's starting to act up again. Just when i thought i stored a plate of chicken rice in there during lunch. ARGH!

Memory loss

Got a call today for a reminder of my facial tomorrow afternoon. Haha.. i actually made an appointment for it some weeks ago since i had a free voucher for it. N i didn't remember it. I also just realised that my GV movie ticket for free show n popcorn just expired yesterday too! Where did all my memory go to man?? Oh well.. i'm not sure if i should still insist on going to tkd tomorrow at mountbatten after facial. Sounds like a bad idea huh?

My car tyre got busted at marina sq today. Shit man, i can't believe i lost my focus on the road so easily. I bet half the people who drove to marina sq bought my car license number since they love to stare at my license plate rather than help a poor damsel in distress. Singaporean syndrome indeed. Now i'm thinking if i should change all my tyres n rims or just pay a few tens of dollars for this busted one. Guess i'm financially constrained now, so i should take the cheapest alternative.

The interior designer came down today. Apparently, we've gotta get approval from several government bodies for our concept n the whole project would probably take a few months. The estimate is about 100k again. For the first time, i wonder if money ever drops from the sky..
