Zone alarm-ing!

I'm sleeping n waking up in the wrong time zones. Forced myself up this morning at 9am to go visiting. Usual routine for the 1st day of CNY. Got home at 3.30pm and was so tired i slept till 9pm. Continued my game till now, and am going to make myself sleep. Otherwise, i'm not going to be able to tahan the entire tomorrow's events.

Mahjong for dummies

After MOS last night, i got home at 4+am this morning. Due to the teh tarik i drank, I only managed to doze off at 6am. And my brother had to wake me up at 11am with his call of duty 2. Was extremely tired, but we had so much to do. It's reunion dinner day!

I dun quite know how the game plan changed, but we decided to have steamboat AND hotplate. We also bought some food like samsui chicken and lo hei (of cos) from the soup restaurant. Basically it was a feast at home. To celebrate the moment, my mum actually suggested drinking the red wine i bought back from canberra last month.

Somehow, we managed to persuade my mum not to go to chinatown (although she kept saying that she wanted to go at least 10 times). To compromise, we allowed her to teach us mahjong. Unbelievable! Well, i guess when she really wants to play mahjong n can't find "kakis", her children would be the last resort. I tried very hard to understand the rules. When I thought I understood, i realise i didn't. And when i tot i couldn't game, i could but i thought i needed something else so in the end i didn't game correctly. Whatever. It takes time ok.

It's 5 minutes to CNY, so here's wishing everyone a HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!! :)

No work and all play

Went down to client's place early in the morning (like 8am) with full vigour and enthusiasm to do work. But i realised that i left my power adapter at home, my laptop battery was zapped up from last night's conference call, the client happily took leave today for CNY cos she didn't think i was going down today (due to my MIA yesterday) and the rest of my team disappeared. So there goes my plans to work.

So i went to the pancakes shop to buy the crispy skin. The poor lady's busy as usual with bulk orders (although it's only 10am), n didn't have any crispy skin. :( Ate breakfast / lunch at the airport instead n headed home.

Now preparing to go back to office, then MOS tonight. Should i go later when there's no more ERP?

Junk

As i'm working from home today, there'd be no jalan besar food review. Instead, i'm pigging out on hot choc with marshmallows, potato chips, junk food, etc. at home. And still feeling hungry.

For those folks who were empathising my dire financial state a while ago, i'm glad to declare that my cash flow is back on track. This means that i can start thinking about my pda phone again.. :) Just watched the 3rd episode of L word last night. It's getting a little abstract n even more thought-provoking than before. Or maybe i think too much.

Back to my game. I mean, work.

Ding dong bell

Walked down along serangoon road to try the big prawn noodles "ren ren da xia mian". It's so expensive n un-satisfying. There's another branch at bendeemeer too but i'm not going to give it a 2nd chance. The beach road noodles along siglap is much better. So I went to buy the pancakes again to make up for it. Apparently, the crispy pancake (my fav) is sold out n there's a huge order for 80-100 pancakes. Hence, the poor lady couldn't entertain my craving for 2 crispy pancakes as she rushed to meet her order. Instead, i had the thick pancake that was still piping hot n it's SO good.. so are the calories.

I still haven't recovered from my over-burnt brain cells from yesterday. My colleague was commenting that I'm not talking as much today. Is that supposed to be a compliment or what? And we've got our regional dept meeting later. Drinking loads of tea now so that i won't snooze off from the heavy lunch.

Oh yeah, I almost had a car accident this morning. I was driving behind this car on the outer-most lane. Like most male-egoistic drivers, they are slow but still love to hog the lane. This guy is worse. The car in front of him was at least 10 metres away. Yet, he just jam brakes whenever the car in front of him brakes. The 2nd time he jam braked, I almost hit him. Fortunately my car ABS was working n i managed to stop my car on time. Quickly overtook his car n shook my head at him. Not sure if he saw it but i was late for work so ... he's really a danger on the road. Should have taken his car license number down!

Once upon a time...

After getting over my liquidity shock, I quickly took measures to restore my liquidity level. Otherwise, I won't be able to do another food review for lunch today! Went to the Bendeemeer market for lunch just now. I haven't been to that place in a long while and it had really changed so much. I grew up there n was familiar with the eateries, but the stalls n shops were totally revamped. Maybe it's due to the MRT station (boon keng). Sighz.. i miss the good ol' days... cos i knew where the good food was! :)

So i had chicken rice today. There was a long queue at that stall. And it seemed like half of the people at the market were eating chicken rice from that stall. Fortunately they were quite fast. The chicken rice is pretty good, almost comparable to the one at kovan. Pity they didn't bother to remove the bones. The taste was slightly lacking to the kovan's chicken rice but still good. Had chin chow after that. It tasted like it was made from chin chow powder, though i would say it was a good effort. Rochor still rox.

After lunch, i visited my 6th grand-auntie who looked after me when i was young. She's still using that fridge (which is older than me). I remember how the fridge used to be taller than me. Now, I'm taller than the fridge. Not that the fridge shrunk, but i've moved on while the fridge didn't. It stayed the same. Shucks, i'm getting into the philosophical mode, maybe due to indirect influence from peiqi's blog. Okok, focus focus. I've got 2 conference calls tonight. Which means, my night is burnt again. Damn.

Debits n credits

We wanted to try the abalone noodles along serangoon road today but found out that it closes on mondays (of all days) n only opens after lunch. Bookmarking the place for dinner instead. So we had duck rice diagonally opposite and it really CMI. We even found a couple of cockroaches in the soup! On the way back, we decided to try the durian pastry at the char kway teow stall. It's like durian mooncake, but with the wrong pastry. Durian mooncakes are definitely much better.

Just checked my bank account online n realise that i've hit an all-time low of less than $30! My gosh, i never had so little money before n it's causing me to have a minor nervous breakdown. And i've got only $0.40 left in my wallet. Think i've got more USD, HKD, MYR, RMB than SGD. Where did my money go to?? Ok, i know. It's my house. Totally on credit now. Maybe i should go back to my budgeting days instead of simply performing bank reconciliations. Then i'll just have even less life than now (although some people insist i've got completely no life but i still do think i've got some?).

I'm going to look for more items to sell. Just sold off a couple of old XO for $250 but my dad took the money. My router's going to fetch me $40, and i'm selling my 2-yr singtel plan for a steal of $160. But why is it that the things i need to buy (like my pda phone) cost so much more? Oh, n i wasted $150 taking the STUPID grading. Pissed.

RTK9 reloaded

I'm hooked. It's so hard to quit my game. I basically fall asleep while playing RTK9 n wake up continuing the game. It made me stop watching my inuyasha, naruto n bleach. And also prevented me from playing my call of duty 2 n age of empires 3. I can't believe it! And i've completed RTK9 like many times before previously.

Nonetheless, i still go down to train the elias kids. Last night, i realised that my class had more than 40 students when one of the mothers was making so much noise in the CC office. Apparently the system could only cater for 40 students n she couldn't register her son as a result. The complaint soon came to me (especially since that lady enjoys bringing matters up to the MP), n somehow the CC managed to increase the class size. So silly.

I'm supposed to be doing some of my office work today since i didn't have much motivation during the week. But i realised that i still can't find the motivation to do my work. Guess i'll just have to be in office earlier tomorrow n away from my game..

Pig's organ soup

Today's lunch was pig's organ soup and chicken at the official mun chee kee (or something like that) between lavender food court and the chicken rice balls. It was pretty nice, but slightly over-priced. Still, i think i'd bring friends there next time. After lunch, i went back to the pancakes stall n bought the crispy skin. The skin is really good man. Must hide it from my sisters.

Having a headache now from insufficient sleep, too much work, outstanding chores, lunch digestion, etc. Thinking if i should go home now. I'm so bored!! And i'm thinking of my RTK9 game.......

Pancakes n balls

Just tried the chicken rice balls along jalan besar which is rated highly by a couple of people. But it's not nice lor. Even the ginger oso CMI! But while walking back to the client's place, we saw this chinese pancake stall (mee chiam kueh) that looks pretty good. So we went to buy pancakes for tea, including the pancake skin that looks like brown tissue prata. The pancake auntie had so much make-up on. I'm not someone who notices such things but her make-up is damn thick man! Apparently, she said that a lot of TCS artistes patronise her stall n she'll be on TV next week (can't remember the day n time) cos her pancakes are nice. So i started thinking that good food must come with good looks huh? We also passed by many other stalls that look pretty good n started making lunch plans for tomorrow n next week. In the meantime, stay tuned for updates on food standard in jalan besar! Hee...

Now kicking my mind back to work. Got a video conference n a meeting later, and another conference call at night. So boring. Ok, skip.

My client just reminded me that CNY is next week. It's faster than i thought! Haven't bought any new clothes or shoes or anything. Dun even have time or budget or energy for that either. Stress stress... i need shopping inspiration badly.

Sian

It's confirmed that i've failed my grading. Not surprising, but i wish i didn't know abt the decision-making process that went on behind the scene. I'm so moody now that i dun even wanna go for my powerboat theory test tonite. Bet i'll just fail it again.

I've lost my mood to do work too. I've got so much work undone, but i really dun care. Maybe i should just leave my client's place n go play lan games to cheer myself up.

brain dead

I'm so brain-dead from the conference call that just ended. So so SO glad that they cancelled the other conference call tonight. I can just die man. Hey, i did most of the talking for this afternoon's conference call ok! Sucked up most of my brain juices. Can't think anymore.. lalalalala

Nothing venture nothing gain

So someone's really offered me $40 for my netgear router. It's a tiny fraction of what i paid, but i guess that's the price of technology. I'm still waiting for someone to dissuade me from getting the eten m600 in romania. How?? High risk, high returns...

Visited my house just now. Inside the estate compound but didn't go into my house since my tenant wasn't in. It's not nice to barge in is it? Passed by a couple of furniture stores on the way back to my client's place. But i didn't bring the design of my new cupboards.. So i guess i'd visit them another day when i bring my design. And i need to buy kokok gei's food.

Tuesday blues....... what happened to the rain? Why is it not raining anymore? How can we be the rain hub if it stops raining?? And tomorrow's my powerboat theory test again. So no mood to study for it. Guess i'm prepared to fail the test once more.. :(

char kway teow

I'm so full from char kway teow lunch. The client brought us to this famous place along lavender street, which is really quite good. So I ended up eating everything instead of only half as i had contemplated. Going to drink chinese tea now n hopefully wash down all the oil that i just consumed.

I'm still thinking if i should get the eten m600 from a dubious source in romania. It definitely is cheaper, but.. the risk involved is relatively high too. Will probably decide by next week. In the meantime, i'll just try to sell my netgear router which had been idling since i bought my linksys router with speedbooster. Wondering how much i can sell it for. $40?

Inspiration

The elias kids are inspiring me, even if it means waking up early on sunday morning to train them. After training, we had quick breakfast at simei then quickly set off to JB. Last minute decision as usual. Bought more dvds n had bak kut teh lunch for a change. The duck next to the bak kut teh stall is really good n we secretly packeted it back to singapore. Fortunately the customs didn't get dogs to check my car. :)

Started watching my dvd, which is not too bad. Just that it's more gun action than hand action. Now continuing my inuyasha again.

Male ego

Had a good sleep today. Woke up at almost noon. Started designing my new cupboard, then watched more inuyasha. I actually am almost hitting episode 40 in a couple of days! Went down to good ol' bugis for a haircut late afternoon. Under fae's directions, i coloured my hair n highlighted it too. Not sure what it all meant, but i spent more than $150 on my hair. Even worse than rebonding! :(

As the colour/highlight/whatever took longer than expected, i ended up being late for class. While rushing to class, there was this IRRITATING car, license plate ER 1111 C, hogging the outer lane along ECP. Typical MALE driver's action. Since i was late, I overtook him when i saw the open space. Before long, he came rushing from behind n cut into my lane n slowed down rite in front of me PURPOSELY. Freaking idiot! The next time i see him, i'll piss him off n wake up his egoistic idea. He's lucky i didn't have time for such games just now.

I just installed call of duty 2. Played a mission but won't get too hooked up on it since i've yet to complete my age of empires 3. Now i'm tied down with inuyasha. Gotta wake up early for tkd tomorrow morning. Those kids are super-enthusiastic man. I was still thinking of having the extra classes only after CNY...

Oh yeah, i've got my new sim card, aka new mobile number, already. Next thing is to find out if eten m600 supports 2-in-1 sim card. If it does, i'll start carrying only 1 phone. But that would make my newly bought nokia 6230i useless? I've got like 2 sets of accessories for my 6230i lor..

Doramon the ripper

My conference last night ended earlier than expected, so I started watching the latest Bleach episode and L word season 3 episode 1. It's so GOOD! :) Also spent the entire night sorting receipts and bank statements from 1999 cos i was looking for a particular receipt.

Helped my younger sis edit so much video that i think i'm probably a partial expert already. Can't believe i got all the essential tools to convert videos, rip selected stuffs, cut up videos, merge clips, add audio, put words... The DVD ripper is good man, u can choose which audio track u want, which subtitles u want, etc. Ok, i'm going to be freelance video editor. So if u need help, PAY ME!

Back to work again. And i'm oredi thinking if i should go out tonite (cell? drinks? dance? tkd?) or stay home n watch inuyasha n install Call of Duty 2. I need to get a haircut too. And get cupboards. Can I sell my cut hair for money?

House sweet house

A bad flu and heavy rain made me super drowsy during the meeting this morning. It's like a small entity, yet they had to call all the big shots from the region and local top management to attend the meeting. So kua zhang for what?? In the end, i had to force myself to stay awake. :( My ulcer is freaking irritating n painful, conveniently located at the edge of my lip. On the verge of burning it although it didn't quite affect my speech during the meeting. Still, it's irritating. And painful.

My house issue is finally settled. Just received the call from my lawyer. So happy!! Now I can go into the estate instead of seeing it from outside only. i'm oso going to get a new mobile line. Then start studying for my powerboat theory test next wed. Retaking the stupid test, damn sad man!

Will probably spend my night helping my younger sis edit her videos n ripping more dvds for her presentation slides. And of cos, another conference call. Sighz, there goes my inuyasha plan...

Time flies

So i spent the entire morning watching ted bundy and the entire afternoon watching inuyasha. I've got so many episodes to catch up on! Then after dinner, went to lee's place to fix computer. Thereafter, had supper with lee, elinn n her sis at millenia walk. Just got home n my younger sis started pestering me to rip dvds for her as it's urgent. I need sleep for tomorrow morning's meeting too! Hopefully i won't doze off during the meeting again..

Another day at work

Wanted to go back office today, but the conference call this morning prevented me from doing so. In the end, I'm working from home today. Did a draft proposal for the tournaments this year. Now to start doing my office work. Then will probably watch ted bundy.

Sighz.. the mood at home is so not conducive to do work. Ok, will watch ted bundy first.

Dust all over

Started clearing out my room today. Boy, my things are really dusty n plenty! Sneezed non-stop as i threw so many things away, most of which i didn't know exist. Still, my room's only half-cleared. How in the world did i manage to store so much in my tiny room?? My only consolation is that i actually found some money too. Hee.. not much, but still it's money. Especially when i'm poor rite now.

After clearing my room, i'll probably need to get a couple of new cupboards or shelves to replace my desk. Then a new bed. Oh shucks, it's time for my conference call again. Those guys in US simply love having conference calls for some reason. And it's always my night time whenever they start. :(

Cold day of rain

It's been raining the whole day. Forced myself out of bed despite aching all over and still desperate for more sleep with the non-stop rain. Rushed down to toa payoh for my students' grading n saw a bus on fire. Hope it wasn't carrying a bunch to tkd kids on their way to grading..

Came home after grading n almost fell asleep immediately. My younger sis had to wake me up before peiqi called to ask for help again. Looks like my plan to WORK from home tomorrow is foiled. Might end up wandering the streets for various things. Still, i've got a conference call at night to make up for the lack of "work" done. Or so i think.

Just finished watching fight of the dragon (to return dehua) n ong bak 2. Don't have much energy to continue with the other shows. Will probably go to bed soon..

Finally over

I survived the grading after all. Wasn't in the best state since they decided to do everything at one go - finish all the patterns, sparring starts immediately n straight to (un)armed combat. By the time i completed my patterns, i was totally worn out n had to start facing a helper sparrer who is completely energetic and fresh. Fortunately they reduced sparring to 3 rounds only. Not sure if i'll pass but what the heck. And i had to go ask big sir for comments on my grading. In the end, i suffered a long arrow to do up some silly proposal for the entire year's tournaments this year! :(

Tomorrow's my students' grading early in the morning. Which means i can't stay up to watch my inuyasha. Or play age of empires 3. Still, i watched the sha po lang with my siblings. That show's really good. Need to rest soon for the sake of my students..

The time has come, the day is here

In 12 hours time, i'd be in the sports hall taking my 4th dan grading. Not much confidence to pass, especially since i haven't spent much time practising it. Speaking of which, i'm feeling quite guilty all of a sudden. I'll just have to do my best n hope to survive the test without blanking out.

A good night rest

I finally managed to catch up on my sleep without anyone waking me up early in the morning. Woke up at almost noon n feel quite refreshed. Of cos, i've decided to work from home today again. Think i had a dream last night about my pda phone. Can't really recall the details anymore, but i think i had the o2 atom.

Training tonight at punggol. Fortunately my conference call for tonight is CANCELLED!! YAY!! Especially when i'm not even ready for it.. hee...

So i failed. Scored 24 out of 30. Have to book for the next test. Such a waste of money n time. N i've got a bad premonition that i'm going to flung the saturday test too. Hooray.

Just watched blood n bones with elinn. Won't advise anyone to watch it since it fills people with anger. I didn't pay money to get angry u know. While in the cab with elinn, i was half worried that she was going to beat me up too..

I've more or less decided to get O2 atom. The only problem is the steep price. $1.2k. Then again, my nokia 6230i costed me around $1.1k since i lost the 1st phone n had to buy another one. The difference is, i'm broke now n in debt.

stress stress stress

Just when i tot i could have a good sleep, peiqi just had to call me at 11am yesterday morning to wake me up! We went JB while i "work from home" in the afternoon. Found a place where they sold dvds at a bargain. I was SO happy that they have inuyasha! Bought the entire series. And even pirates have their own websites for online shopping, complete with delivery to singapore. Now what do you say to that? Professional man!

Haven't taken test since goodness knows when, n i'm suddenly going for 2 tests this week. Feeling quite stressed out now, dunno why. Haven't studied for my test this evening. N i feel so ill-prepared for the one this saturday. I'm so dead.

At last..

I finally finished watching that show. Now i'm just waiting for my teh-si-gao-siu-dai effect to wear out then i can knock myself out for the next 12 hours. I've decided to work from home again tomorrow.. :)

Plot after plot

That da chang jin is so irritating. Why are the evil people plotting so many different things n the good people just not able to speak up?? In the end, i can't sleep either in anticipation to see the evil plots get unraveled. I hope that doesn't happen in the real life.

Ok, i was so bored i had to start watching the korean drama serial, da chang jin. Think it was the worst decision, since i now dun have time for anything else, including blogging. Oh, but i still celebrated new year's day at zouk. It wasn't too crowded since half the clubbing population was at MOS. Now time to chiong the rest of da chang jin. For some reason, that show always makes me hungry..
