Jinx-dao

I believe that Qingdao is a jinxed place for me. I either miss my flight there, or miss my flight back. I know I've got a track record for missing flights, but still, I haven't missed any of my other domestic flights in China except for Qingdao! This time, I had to wait from noon till night for the next available flight with seats.

While waiting, my cab driver took me to his house for late lunch. And er-guo-tou. Fortunately I didn't drink TOO much since I insisted that i had to work. Still, it was the lousier type of er-guo-tou that gives you a massive hangover after a couple of sips. But of course, when i got home after the lunch, the only things i did were gaming and watching L Word. At least those activities helped clear my headache without needing to sleep. So much for my busy schedule. I seriously need to focus on WORK. I've got so much outstanding that i know that everyone's going to kill me soon. For now, everyone's only going after me via emails... for now........

Oh, the recollection of the last few days. On the 15th day of CNY, i felt like i lived in a war zone. The firecrackers were going up everywhere (and i mean everywhere) every 15 seconds , it was crazy. That night, after my buffet in ritz, I had to go to Centro to celebrate the departure of leona. Err.. not exactly celebrate but just an excuse for drinking. They were not letting me go with a mocktail so i didn't have a choice. Sighz... and the night ended at 1.30am. The next night was late once more due to karaoke with BRS folks.

Small sir arrived 2 days ago for the olympics simulation. Brought him and some other referees to da dong for dinner and then to my fav massage haunt. I think i'm always associated with decent places or activities cos i realised that small sir had to tell his wife that I was with him at the massage shop to reassure his wife. And the cover-ups i did for many other people, like elinn.... Gosh... i can do freelance alibi service soon.

Kelong kelong here i come!

I think i've got an affinity with cockroaches. Even if i don't see them at home, i'll see them in office. Today, i found this dead baby cockroach lying on my hole puncher. Yuck! And yes, today is sunday and i'm in office. To think i only got back to beijing at around midnight last nite. I'm so freaking tired now, that makes me unproductive today. Was surfing the internet most of the time...

Anyway, i'm so happy that I passed my powerboat test! Yay!!! This means that i'll be licensed to drive the boat or jet ski when i go back to singapore and go JB for seafood via the straits instead of the causeway. I'm feeling so excited already! Luckily i passed my test too, since it almost made me miss my flight back to beijing. Oh, the SIA lounge in terminal 3 is really looking quite good. To think they even have lo-hei inside for free. Unfortunately i was so full from dian-xiao-er that i didn't eat the lo-hei. Talking about food, i'm feeling my hunger pangs now. Dinner time!

Yet another year

Few days ago, ST reported that the market rate for ang pows had increased from $4 to $10. That is so NOT true! At least not for me. I've collected quite a lot of ang pows (now you know I'm really visiting relatives during CNY) and most of them were still $4? In fact, I even have $2 ones! Ok, I should stop being such a sucker for ang pows and start realising that people at my age are embarrassed even to receive them. Why am I not??

So what have I done since i came back? Plenty! Met up with many people, had bbq, sang karaoke, facial, dental, ate all the local food that I love (in fact, had chicken rice 3 times..) and stocked up on my fav cereals. Bought more than 10 boxes of them to bring back to beijing. Hopefully the customs won't think that I'm selling cereals. Also went JB twice so far, going the 3rd time tomorrow.

Suddenly everyone's telling me about edison chen's nude pix n video being posted everywhere on the net. Some say they're fakes, yet there are evidence to prove them to be real. Regardless, I'm not sure if i'm feeling sorry for the people involved. After all, they're adults who have the sense to foresee the consequences of their actions and bear responsibility for whatever they have done. Instead, I'll probably watch if any celebrity reveals an inner strong character to weather these tough times.

For the next couple of days, I'll be practising my powerboat since I've booked my test for this Saturday morning. Really crossing my fingers to pass otherwise i'll need to retake the entire course! Ok, must start preparing for my major family dinner tonight. Ciao.

The first couple of days

I don't understand why my blogger is still in Chinese when i'm back in singapore already. The chinese words are haunting me!! Expectedly, i was totally melting for the last couple of days although my younger sis seemed to be shivering at 24 degrees. But i guess i adapt quickly and now have semi-adjusted to the weather here. I'm a tropical person after all.

Apart from the weather, i also need to adjust to the traffic here. Yesterday when i drove for like 20 minutes, i was horned by at least 5 cars. I'm so used to beijing's style of driving although i didn't drive there. Strange. And since i came back, i've been eating everything except local food. :( This is bad. I need to meet up with friends with negative influence like elinn n peiqi to get my local dosage, as well as drive to JB for supper and petrol. OMG, the petrol prices here in singapore are crazy! Just 5 months ago when i left for beijing, i remember the prices hovering around $1.50. Now, it's like $2?? It's literally forcing me to go JB even if i dun want to...

It's weird that i seem to be having jet lag ever since i came back. I'm tired in the day, and awake in the night. Maybe i shouldn't have taken the red-eye flight. Like last night, i only intended to drop by elias cc for 10 minutes max to take a look at the kids. In the end, my adrenaline for tkd seemed to kick in and i ended up being there for the entire class. Plus supper after.

Oh, i realised that people have already seen my haerbin pix in facebook so i won't post them here anymore.
