Cast-away

I've changed my orthopaedic appointment to this sat. It's way too early to remove my cast, but i seriously can't wear a lot of clothes with it. Not to mention that showering is so difficult too.. This place here is really freezing where your normal breathing produces smoke in the air. I need to wear gloves, n the cast isn't a good substitute (though it looks stylo).

After half an hour of work, I found a problem with the server here and asked the client for screenshot as evidence. Instead of giving me the screenshot, they are buying me dinner tonight. Geez.... I'm going to grow fat here man.... Oh, and now they're topping it up with a chauffeur everyday to n fro the hotel. Gosh.

Life of a Left-hander Travelling With Only a Right Hand

I just feel so helpless (and embarrassed) when:
1. I can't fill up the customs forms (3 for China).
2. I can't put the muffs on the earphones.
3. I can't tear the plastic containing cutlery, sugar or creamer.
4. I can't cut the chicken.
5. I can't tear up the ice-cream cone paper.
6. I can't open the cheese and crackers.
7. I delayed the x-ray queue at the airport when I had to offload and reload my laptop.
8. I spilt the orange juice while trying to open the tray table and hold the cup at the same time.
9. I can't wear most of my clothes.
10. I can't tie my shoelaces.

Yet, thank God I still have one hand to type all my grievances on this blog!

Lost track of time

It's been a while since i updated my blog. Not just that it's a chore to type with one hand, but i've just been so busy since wednesday when my mum reminded me that i was flying to suzhou today! I thought i had 1 more week in singapore where i could probably work from home (or JB..). Since then, i panicked to plan my arrival including getting my flight tickets, arranging for a driver, booking hotel, getting china visa, etc.

On friday evening, i had my year 2007's 1st lo-hei. Talk about being kiasu. It was my niece's birthday that day n we threw her a party in my house. Don't ask me how the lo-hei is relevant cos i've no idea. My right-hand's inability to use chopsticks didn't stop me from the fun though. I was literally tossing the dish!

My entire weekend was burnt with the silly referee poomsae course. Had my 4th dan interview after the course then went for foot massage with yen yen n lee noi. Rushed home after dinner to pack my luggage n found out subsequently that suzhou was still hanging around 0 degrees instead of the 10 degrees i imagined. So i had to repack. Yup, with one hand. Somehow, i suddenly started to appreciate peiqi helping me pack my luggage during that trip to taiwan even though it was for her interest instead of mine... heh.

I'm flying back this friday nite to take the referee test on sat then back to suzhou on sunday to continue my project. Planning to go st james on fri nite when i land but i'm really not sure if my parents n grandma r going to be too happy with my disappearance right after my appearance! Should i push it? Hmm...

Finally kelong

We ended up spending 2 hours finding that kelong seafood place in JB, thanks to Peiqi's totally summarised directions and using a shut down petrol kiosk as a landmark. And I realised today that I actually have the JB map in my car. Oops.. I don't exactly have the best memory you know... Fortunately the ride back to Singapore took a much lesser amount of time.

Went to paragon on friday afternoon. Thank goodness i asked fae along, for the salons there looked so intimidating! So now my hair is slightly shorter n I still hv at least $100 more vouchers to spend on adidas and sony products. Nope, i'm not going to spend that on my hair again.

Caught the apocalypto at vivocity GV Max after my haircut. Cinema was good for the show. Didn't expect it to be so gory, although the show is not too bad. Hence, i didn't have appetite during dinner @ gillman village where i met up with elinn n jasmine again. Thereafter, it was sheesha. Strangely, I was the one who suggested it.

For some reason, the people around me are making me feel like a pirate. So am I law-abiding or not? Why are there exceptions to my "good" alignment? That's why I'm chaotic good.

Lost and found

Ah-ha! I found my painkillers. Somehow they miraculously appeared in my room... Well, you know how much of a mess my room is so... heh...

I just paid 1 of my credit card bills of $20k n i'm feeling damn broke now. This gives me more inspiration to go JB and pump cheap petrol and eat cheap seafood. Which is what i'm planning to do tomorrow night! And my grandma's complaining about my hair. Guess i can't depreciate it over 5 months after all (i spent too much on my hair 2.5 months ago). Fortunately, I hv my $180 paragon vouchers to the rescue! Shall probably go there and waste some vouchers on my hair on fri afternoon. I can then continue depreciating the sunk cost previously incurred. It's all psychological, I know.

I feel like playing neverwinter nights 2 again, with a different character and different paths. Should I? Hmm...

I've got my next follow-up appointment for my broken hand tomorrow morning. Let's see if i can con the doc for another week of MC. Think by the end of this whole episode, i'll utilise my entire year's MC entitlement within the 1st month of the year. Ha!

The battles end

I just completed neverwinter nights 2. Yes, I single-handedly defeated the king n his minions. Of cos, amongst other things i do single-handedly like cooking instant noodles, cracking eggs, washing my hair, etc. By the end of this month, I'm turning right-handed.

Couldn't find my painkillers. I bet my old maid stole them as well n now my grandma's getting convinced about it too after my brainwash. Oh, that morning after my old maid left, poor kokok gei were starving. They literally followed me everywhere making those funny noises that i realised they weren't fed. So poor thing.. I introduced kokok gei to my new maid n she told me her house chickens laid eggs..... Rite, gei doesn't.

Today, elinn n jas dragged me out of my house to watch some jap arty farty movie at picturehouse. We didn't stay in the cinema for more than an hour, although it felt like 10 hours oredi. Scolded elinn for choosing such a show where they spent at least 15 minutes asking the prison warden why he wore a stupid grin on his face. Oh, n we bumped into lee n her friends. Apparently she's back in town. Bet they watched a much nicer show than ours, which is like any other show screening now.

After much thoughts, I've decided to return to office on Tuesday instead. I need rest after all the battles. Thinking of strategies was sure tiring for my brain! Lights out.

Old maid

I'm now typing on my logitech desktop set that comes with the laser mouse n MX2600 keyboard. So happy the shipment arrived after waiting so long. Simply in love with my laser mouse.. Heh.

I finally decided not to wait for TTSH's ortho appointment and went down raffles hospital this afternoon. Got my hand casted in nice blue (I chose the colour) n it costed like 400++ bucks??!!? Though another week of MC partially made up for it.. which means i really can finish neverwinter nights after all! Just for updates, I'm already in Act 3.

Just changed my maid. Apparently my old maid was looking for a new employer over the past couple of weeks and somehow arranged for her boxes of things to be sealed n taken away. Not sure how she did it as she had been going out a lot on her own for the past week. So now that i just got home, i see the new maid. Oh, my old maid seemed to have packed my tv and ran off with it too. So now the new maid has no tv in her room. Maybe i should get her one or just move 1 of our 5 teles at home to her room.

And everyone should watch blood diamond. It's a really good show! Caught it on Monday night since the timing was right. Had crabs for dinner at joo chiat on tues evening with everyone from my singapore dept, except leng since she's in taiwan. I didn't wanna go cos i can't possibly peel crabs with 1 hand? But angie promised to feed me. As things turned out, yoyo did all the peeling for me while i did all the eating. Shiok! Now this is why my broken hand is a blessing in disguise! :)

1 week of play!

It's difficult for me to type my blog now since i'm partially handicapped. The grading left my index finger meta-something fractured. They sent me to the hospital in an ambulance when they realised tt something was broken. N i had to hurt my left hand, which is my dominant hand. I just realised that it means I couldn't sign - no cheques nor credit cards! The doc estimated 6 weeks for recovery, n gave me 1 week MC. Yay! 1 week of gaming!!! Although my battles now take slightly longer to fight with only 1 hand.

So Elinn, jasmine n yoyo visited me today. Must really thank elinn too for buying food for me last nite at the hospital, tying my shoe-laces n even helping me pay the medical bill cos my bag was with dehua! Oh, n hanseng n gf unexpectedly dropped by the hospital too. Back to the house visit. Entertained them with final destination 3 (sacrificed my game time...) n yoyo stayed for dinner. Now the question is, how do i shower?? I've decided tt if i can't work tt out, i'll jus sacrifice n bear with not showering for a few days. U know i really wanna shower rite? :)

They are not allowing me to drive the car now. I'm sure i can manage an auto-gear car? Strangely, they allow my younger sis, who is having problems with her foot, to drive. That's so unfair!! I'm just wondering, now tt i'm HANDicapped, can i park at the handicapped lot? Hmm....

Still in town

Yay! I'm so happy that my project got postponed, which means i don't have to fly this Sunday. This means that i can dedicate more time to finishing my neverwinter nights 2. hip hip.. hooray!! :) I'm so hooked on the game that all i can think of is to go home n play it. Even at work, i read the book. I don't feel like working at all, which isn't a rare thing anyway.

Tomorrow's judgment day. My morning will be spent on ladies committee (my 2nd attendance?), then my afternoon n evening is entirely burnt with grading. Such a waste of time. I'm so looking forward to night when i can just sit on my bed to play game. That's if i survive the many rounds of sparring...

Wanted to go down changkat to train tonight, but i've got an event going on at my director's house. Since he asked, i brought like 8 dance music cds there to liven up the place. One of them is a vcd filled with retro music videos in case someone prefers to sing karaoke??

And i've really gotta talk to my new aussie colleague. From all the things he wrote and gave me (especially that package he sent over from sydney...), i think he's crazily infatuated. JC said i should tell my director about it, but i guess i'll try giving him a talk 1st. Hopefully i'll say the write things n minimise his hurts when i talk to him later today. Wish me luck!

Neverwinter nights returns!

Happy new year! It's yet another year and people are asking me for my new year resolutions. I've got none thus far n i kicked-start the year with neverwinter nights 2. This exlains my lack of blog updates for so long despite being in town. Simply love the game n i'm already in Act 2. The usual D&D has 4 acts, i'm not sure about this one.

Still, i dragged my ass off my bed on new year's eve to meet elinn, jasmine, yen n kirsten for dinner n party. Seems like clarke quay was plagued with indians n caucasians that night. Did the countdown at attica and followed-up at merchant court hotel. The music was pretty good! Somehow, the whole world seemed to be there as we got stuck INSIDE the carpark for like an hour??

On new year's day, my bro invited his friends over for steamboat. Had the bottle of white wine i bought from canberra n i made the chocolate fondue for dessert. I really make good fondue alright. Stop salivating.

Other than that, i was trying very hard to slot in practices of my patterns today. My grading is like 3 days later n i am still learning the patterns! Of cos i haven't prepared for the unarmed and armed combat either, n my target kicking totally sucks. I really am off-form n need lots of mental power to overcome my grading. So should i take MC??
