House-keeping

Last few days were crazy. My older sis had a last min assignment for piano playing on my mum's birthday nite, so I had to find an alternative place for dinner the nite before n inform the whole world abt it. All had to be done within an hour as my mum was super-pissed. Well, my mum loves to have my cousins n everyone else included in her birthday dinner so.. Fortunately, all turned out well.

Then my house. On tues nite, I went to look at the house with my dad, grandma, sis, bro-in-law n niece. Gosh, my family's just so exaggerated. Nevertheless, the house was given thumbs-up. The next nite, I went back there again to resolve details with the owner with my parents. The owner brought us around the estate, which was beautiful. I never doubted that anyway. Going to make him an offer later during lunch when i meet up with his agent. I foresee a severe cash flow problem during the next 3 months if the deal pulls through. Gotta think how i can get my money back from the various parties i've lent it to..... :(

Beezeezz

I know, bad effort for leet speaking. Read abt geocaching today. It sounds interesting n i'll probably try it 1 day if i get my windows-based PDA to install GPS. Been so busy today. Trying to look for houses, talk to bankers for loan, checking out rental rates, looking for places to eat for dinner tomorrow, etc. So where does work fit in? Well, in between everything else i guess.

Going to look at a condo unit later. If i can get the price i want, i'll most likely purchase it. As it is, the price is already close to what I'm willing to pay so hopefully all turn out well later. N i've oso got the interior designer to come to my place this Saturday morning. N i'm supposed to meet my banker later. Man, I need a PDA.

Banana-rama

I just realised how long ago it was since i last updated my blog. Friday nite stinks. I rushed down to fae's farewell at fluid far east sq after work n got together with my pwc bunch. I didn't drink much since i drove, while the rest were turning rowdy. Expectedly, fae didn't last too long after the waterfall. A few others had the drink too, n soon fae was stripping the guys... Sent her home after a while n she puked 3 times. I got puke on my feet n in my car... :(

Went down to sim lim on Saturday n bought some stuffs for a friend. N i found out that my friend was just eating 1 banana a day! Got me inspired over my diet plan again, although that still didn't stop me from mooncakes after mooncakes, buffets after buffets. Why m i always in the midst of all the food?? Saw another show house n rushed down to elias class. Went JB after class with peiqi n dehua. Due to my fickle-mindedness, we ended up not eating anywhere. Geez..

Sunday was buffet time again. Felt so lethargic after lunch, i didn't feel like going down mountbatten. Then i started reading the accounting question peiqi passed me. It woke me up instantly. It's been a long while since i saw such a fun question! With the energy boost, i went down to mountbatten after seeing yet another showhouse. Then had dinner with elinn, anne n weiming (i think) at chomps.

I'm so sleepy rite now, i need a bed badly. Why do i come to work so early??

Clean n green

I feel so clean. Taking many baths a day, brushing my teeth often too. Outside my room is filled with greenery n lakes. So beautiful. The only problem with this hotel is the size. This freaking hotel is so bloody big i couldn't even find the place for my meals!!! They had to make phone calls to find out which building i was having my meal.......... :(

Going to brush my teeth now. Ciaoz.

Rolling good times!

This hotel simply ROX! :) The place is so huge, with golf courses n lakes surrounding it, a few swimming pools, courts, gyms, etc. These are actually not so important since i won't hv the time to use them. But the room is good too! The bed is so huge, i can basically roll over it 3 times. I'm not saying i'm skinny, but the bed is so big lor. The toilet is so nice too. N they've got bathrobes n pyjamas. Sighz.. why do i have to be here for only 2 nights?? I'm probably going to take many baths n brush my teeth many times since they've got 2 sets of toothbrush, dental floss, n everything else in pairs.

Moon feasting

Last night was mooncake festival. My family had our usual fare of mooncake & pomelo eating, tea drinking n admiring the moon. With lanterns. Had a good chat with my mum n grandma. One of the topics was about the house of cos. We were still thinking about the various houses we saw yesterday, as well as the one we wanted at haig road.

Saturday was warped. I was supposed to go for some STF MC election to take the treasurer post so that steven soh can retire n take up another position. Of cos i didn't get elected. Cheng hui's team of pple were there to take up at least 50% of the total number of votes. Hence, his own pple were all elected. Political or power struggle? Whatever, i dun care. I end up being appointed the honorary auditor. Geez.. n i had to make sure peiqi suffered the same fate as me since they needed 2 auditors. Ha! I mean, i'd feel more comfortable working with her than anyone else i guess. N it appeared that ah meng wasn't too happy with the results.

Bought a hush puppies luggage from takashimaya yesterday evening for my guangzhou trip today. Yeah, i'm now at the airport silver kris lounge blogging to pass time. Thinking if i should buy a carton of cigarettes for my friend. Maybe not. My flight's delayed by 20 min for now. Woke up too early this morning n feel like sleeping. Supposed to be meeting my manager at the airport, but i realise i dun have his number. Guess as long as we're on the same plane, it shouldn't go too wrong. I hope..

House-hunting

Think we're on the verge of dropping the idea of getting a new place. Instead, we might just renovate our house. N i'll just get my own apartment. Now looking at apartments around east coast, tanjong rhu all the way to tanjong pagar. Think i've got my eyes on a couple of them. Just need to negotiate the price..

I've got so many emails for the US global conference, asking me for t-shirt sizes, jacket sizes, horse-riding or kayaking or go-karting or golfing, etc. N i'm supposed to make a presentation of myself to the global team since i'm new. Staying in some wall street district hotel in NYC (n their map on the website makes u think that everything was built around it), then at some getaway resort in Cape Cod. I'll probably ask to drive back to the airport rather than fly over on UA since i've got a >10 hr flight back home thereafter. Oh, northwest air apparently filed for bankruptcy protection! They should re-train ALL their flight attendants..

I've been early the entire week. In fact, i'm here so early i dun even believe it myself! Hope i can keep up with my momentum. Now my mind's running wild, towards new properties...

New brooms sweep clean

Just started my new job at united technologies yesterday. Waking up was a challenge n getting to work was another. By the 1st day, i oredi found out that they start work after 9.30am, which suits me fine. The people here tend to talk more slowly. Before they finish talking, I oredi knew wat they wanted to say. Hence, i usually help them complete their sentences. Found out that i've got biz class air tix booked to guangzhou in china next monday for some global CIO conference. Wonder wat i'll do there. But if it's going to be a conference, i sure hope they have my teh-si to combat the zzz-monsters. I mean, i dun wanna fall asleep n drool next to some CIO from pratt n whitney rite?

Last nite was super heavy rain. Cancelled my tennis with gerrie n had dinner with my younger sis n elinn at marina sq instead. Introduced dian xiao er to them n i believe they love the food too! Of cos my younger sis loves the ancient chinese decor with the bamboo windows n huge wine jars.. Going for my swedish back massage tonight before allowing fae to colour my hair tomorrow. I've managed to drag the colouring trauma for a couple of weeks oredi with lousy excuses like "mentally unprepared". N she's sort of decided tomorrow is the day. Period.

Only 3?

After a night of active searching, i think i've downloaded most of her songs already. I think she only has 3 main albums?? Port of Call and Nightwatch (mp4 format some more) are complete. I've got most of the songs from At First Light too, with some music videos. The Internet is really wonderful, but I feel like buying an original album to support her. I'll probably get At First Light, which is why I'm stopping myself from downloading the entire album..

There was quite a huge turnout for my farewell night, at least more than i expected. Quite touched by my colleagues, who apparently love to see me drink for some reason. I was doing well with bottles of white wine, when fae or wendy got me waterfall. I only remembered being shocked, telling fae that it's a knockdown drink, drank it n... dun remember too much wat happened thereafter. After all, i only had a bowl of porridge the entire day so didn't think i could hold the drink very well. Really wasn't intending to end up drunk but i simply couldn't find more time to eat. My head's still spinning slightly now.

Rushed home from office yesterday lunch time to send my bro off to tekong. His 1st expedition to army. Our clan was visibly the largest, spanning 3 generations. My parents, my younger sis, my niece (representing my older sis's family who are holidaying in sydney/melbourne) n myself saw my bro off. My mum's upset with my grandma for not being able to go and make up the 4th generation.. Anyhow, i think i saw most people only went with their parents, or with a sibling at most. Wonder wat my bro's doing now..

Silje fad

For some reason, i just fell in love with the voice of silje nergaard. Yeah, i know it's delayed reaction, but i realised that i like her voice a lot! N her music too.. :) Now i'm bent on getting all her mp3s. Or simply buy her albums.

Sick :(

It's a bad day. Had severe headaches last nite, felt very cold n couldn't sleep. Tot after perspiring it all out, my fever would go away. However, my headache became even worse this morning, though my fever seemed to hv gone down.

Saw a doc n verified that i was running a temperature of 38.5 degrees. Got my medicine n went home. The medicine worked for a while, before my fever came back once more. Hopefully it'll all go away by tomorrow. I still need to go back to office to clear my desk!

Suspect it was the go-kart session that caused me to fall sick. Not regretting it since go-karting is really fun! Hee.. n as the servicing of the car took longer than expected, i only had 3 hours of go-kart. Must find the time to go again when there are lesser people. :)

On the run

I'm now at borneo motors waiting to service my car again. Is it me driving too much? Cos i dun seem to find anyone else around me that service their cars so regularly except myself. Or maybe it's just my built-in KS syndrome. It's a waste of time waiting n hence i've decided to blog. Couldn't bring myself out of bed this morning n so conveniently decided to give up on attending the morning meeting. Will drop by federation office later after servicing my car to settle a couple of stuffs, then head to office. Hopefully there's time to meet up with elinn before meeting JC for lunch.

N i've got my theme park plans worked out for this afternoon. It's 4 hours of unlimited go-kart rides! YAY!! Hopefully i won't be pressurised into taking the scary rides, like roller coaster in the dark.. Then again, i might just decide to try it since it's free.

Watched yakitate last nite n i think it's quite funny cos it reminds me of stephen chow's humour! Since it's about bread, i've got a feeling that my older sis would LOVE this anime..

One down

Finally, i've finished watching shaman king. It's actually quite nice towards the end n meaningful too. Think i'd burn the anime into data dvds. Now i've gotta think if i wanna see yakitate or continue my POT from epi 100.

Guess my dad's getting the whole family upset abt the fact that i'm not talking to him so everyone's pressurising me into giving in. I've sort of decided to talk to him soon, just need to decide on an auspicious day. Maybe when i next see him, i'll just say something stupid. Or sarcastic.

17" or 19"

Caught another french show 36 Quaides Orfevres at lido yesterday. Quite thought-provoking. Makes me wanna turn to the dark side.. After tkd last nite, we went back to the kaki bukit place. This time, i had an empty stomach. Managed to eat the claypot chicken rice that peiqi raved about the nite before. The home-made barley is so good n cheap!

After church today, it was COMEX! Yup, back to suntec n walked around the food fair while i was at it too since eileen tot of finding reggie's wife there. Her family sort of founded bee hoon or something, and owns the hottest bee hoon brand. Jason got his 15" powerbook after little persuasions n recommendations from me, while i got my MMC card. After checking out all levels, i realised that the 1Gb SD cards were totally out of stock! I oso got the 19" viewsonic monitor for moky, but decided to test it out first. Hee.. N it got me thinking if i should get it too while my younger sis is still there.. my samsung 17" or viewsonic 19"????

Stupid temptation. Ok, i'll get 21" next time, so will skip 19" for now. Back at my older sis's place to help fix up her pc. I so wanna go back n complete my shaman king. I've only got 2 epis left!!

Keep or throw

Next fri's my farewell. My colleagues were thinking where we should go. The usual far east sq haunts that we oredi hv club memberships with, or the clark quay area (china 1, attica, etc). Think eudon will come up with something. Went down changkat last nite to settle the report. Most of it is done, just some touch-ups which shouldn't take too much time. Had supper at kaki bukit hawker, a place that i think we missed for far too long! Next time i'll go there with an empty stomach.. :)

The interior designer came down to my place this morning. He's thinking of changing almost everything with an expenditure of minimum 25k. Dun think my dad would be too happy to hear that. I believe the 1st step is to convince my dad that we need a plasma. Oh yeah, i've decided to get plasma instead of projector screen after much recommendations and reviews from trusted sources. Now targeting the hitachi.. but must settle the pool table issue 1st.

Gotta settle more computers today. Maybe i might have time to catch a show since feiling lost all her pc budget in mahjong n needs to postpone her computer fix session. Or maybe i'll go play basketball instead to lose calories! Haa.. n oso plan for my tkd class of 40 kids tonite.

Comex!!

Yesterday was the start of Comex n obviously i was there. Wasn't the 1st one of cos, since i had to work. Got there at about 4pm with sengy n geraldine n started my recee procedure. It was really huge, spanning 3 levels of suntec. I would say there are effectively 2 floors. Bought the panasonic oxyride batteries. Going to buy the rest of my stuffs this sunday. I oredi have a group of pple wanting to go Comex with me this sunday. So funny! The other things to be bought include my 512Mb MMC, 1 Gb SD, linksys PCI with speedbooster, n couple of software. Still pondering abt the 19" monitor. Viewsonic, 19" LCD with DVI, DVI cable, 12ms resp time for only 475 bucks is really cheap!! But i just bought a 17" LCD samsung monitor 3 months back. I might end up getting a 21" LCD instead during the next show. Shall see what happens.

Last nite's cell group was quite enlightening. It coincided with the superstar finals that i recorded on my pc (so that i could extract more free mp3s from there.. hee..). Thinking when else i should go for Comex apart from sunday. I've got 2 pcs to fix up tomorrow. Maybe i'll go down sim lim sq instead. How exciting!!!
