Going offline

I've finally arrived in New York and will not be going online too often. So this will probably be one of my last entries until next month. Caught a broadway musical avenue Q. Fortunately it was hilarious enough to jolt me out of my jet lag. Tomorrow, i'll be on my way to the global conference. 2 years ago, i was totally sick throughout and everyone remembered it till this date. This time, i better make a better impression by staying healthy. Which means, i've to eat well. :)

The sea, the sand and the sunburns!

I survived from the snorkelling and plane ride! We were supposed to snorkel at 3 sites in the red sea, but after the second site, the guide realised that it was way too tiring to pull the people who cannot swim (actually just kit kat n me) against the current, we didn't go for the 3rd round. Ok, he put it subtly that the 3rd site required people who were strong swimmers... But the corals are simply beautiful. Still, kit kat and me decided that Cairns had bigger fishes while red sea had better corals.

Went with yoyo to St Katherine's as well. Took a camel to the monastery. The going up and coming down were scary! I hope my horse ride in US won't be as bad... Anyway, i didn't do the mount sinai sunrise as i really doubt my abilities to stay awake. It's a pity, but i need to leave something undone so that I've a reason to come back here next time. Heh.

On the day that we flew back from sharm to cairo, there was a plane carrying peacekeeping people that crashed in sharm. Everyone on board died. I'm so so so lucky that i wasn't on it! Phew.......

Tomorrow, all of us are flying out to Frankfurt then to NY. I'm so bogged by all the presentations I've to do for the global conference. They're making me fall sick at this rate. Now i'm even more sure of my decision to leave UTC!

Movers and Shakers

Where are the updates?? I know, that's like the thought in so many people's heads. Ok, not so many since few know of my blog. But for the very few privileged ones who do, so much had happened. One of the bigger news is that I'm pretty much bent on leaving UTC. And it doesn't stop there. I'm relocating to London as well. Just looking for a place to stay now.

For now, here's the update for Egypt. Went to see the pyramids and sphinx after 2 weeks of being in Egypt. They look better on television than the real thing. Nevertheless, I'm still in awe of the pyramids. Simply cannot believe they built these so many thousands of years ago without cranes or machines. How did they do it? Also visited the holy crypt that Jesus and virgin Mary hid in when Jesus was 3 months old. Simply amazing.

Today, we're heading for Sharm el-sheikh where the red sea and mount sinai are. Taking a 3-day weekend since we worked hard on 1st May (yes I did!). Guess what? The Iraq security conference happens to be taking place at the same time. World leaders are there (including Iran and Condolezza Rice...) to discuss this in Sharm. Now, apart for praying for my safety during my snorkelling feat at the red sea, please also pray that there's no terrorist attacks in Sharm......!!!
