Holiday time!

Wendy was here with me for a week. Spent some time catching up on pwc news, gossiping about YY, etc. As usual, i had to bring her to places for dinner and spent so much money in the process. But I don't mind since it's for food... :)

It's finally time... for my holidays! In less than an hour, my driver's coming to pick me up and head for the airport. First destination would be Munich for the oktoberfest. Since carol insists on visiting the disney castle, i'll be sacrificing one day on a castle tour. After that, we're headed for russia, st petersburg. Got ourselves booked on a 12-day cruise to moscow from there. Or was it 13 days? Whatever. Just as long as i don't get seasick along the way.

Really hate to think the amount of work i have when i'm back since i'll be disappearing for 2.5 weeks?? YAY!!!!! I'm so happy to be gone.

Time out with dad

It's been so long since i last updated my blog that pq had to update it without me telling her. This is embarrassing! I'm not using my dad as an excuse but i was very pre-occupied by his visit here lor. As usual, i brought him everywhere to eat n spent a lot of money. Because i just paid for my munich n russia tour too, i'm feeling so broke this month! And the bankruptcy of lehman brothers is not making me feel better.

Since my dad likes cantonese food, i brought him to all the different cantonese restaurants. Then on saturday, we took a ride from water and headed to tianjin where we walked the old cultural streets n visited the 5 main roads. Thereafter, we had cheap seafood n took the 350 km/h train back to beijing. The whole experience just feels like me going to JB for seafood just that the train ride was a lot more comfortable than driving bumper to bumper at the causeway. I was so full from eating so much crabs that night!

Next morning, we went to climb fragrance hill with rachel. Fantastic weather since it's paralympic n the govt had made the sky blue. When i was feeling quite tired from the walk, i realised that we had only been walking in the park and only just reached the foot of the hill?? Damn. The climb up was very steep. Stopped several times cos i didn't think my dad had the stamina to continue... hee... ok, i didn't have the stamina. When we finally got to the peak, the view was quite incredible and i refused to climb down. My legs were all soft lah! So we took the "cable car" down. It's seriously just a swing chair with a bar in front of you that you have to press down. Usually, i appreciate open concept but when you're 100m above ground n are heading down a steep gradient, it doesn't give you too much comfort.

That night, we went to ritan park for mooncake festival. I brought haagen daaz mooncakes (courtesy of carol), while rachel brought agnes b mooncakes. They are actually baked by kee wah, so they're good. Venessa donated lanterns n candles while the rest just joined in the party. It was a pretty decent sized group of around 13 of us. We almost couldn't get out of the park when we finished at around 11+pm. Went to massage after that to make up for the mountain climbing in the morning.

Today i'm just idling around cos i'm so so so tired. My dad flew off this morning n i slept the entire morning n half the afternoon away. Now i'm feeling recharged but still no mood to look at my reports. All i'm thinking of is my upcoming holidays in 2 weeks time!!!

esther is busy so i help her

hello! it's me the self-invited guest blogger - Champion Chen again! esther must be pretty busy these days because she has to make some preparations before my grand arrival in Beijing again this November!

she has to do things like.. stock up enough hotel's toothbrush, soap, shampoo, bedroom slippers.. she also has to like get her cleaning aunty to dettol the entire guestroom cos she knows i'm very particular about hygiene.

most importantly she has to prepare a list of good restaurants to bring me to (cannot repeat those that we went before last year).. she has so many things to do so please forgive her for not updating her blog as often as she would like to.

see you in Beijing soon! i cannot wait! by the way.. dont need to pick me up at airport, i know the way to your house and still can remember which unit. hopefully the security guard on duty still remembers me, if not then i will just show him your house keys as proof..

oh you mean i didn't tell you that i duplicated a set of your keys the other time i stayed at your place? kekeke...
