Just what did i sign up for??

And because of the weather forecast, we ended up going to simatai on 19 April instead. One thing i didn't know was that, we were HIKING over to simatai from jinshanling! This meant that we had to toil over 30 towers n 1000s of steps while risking our lives over the half-broken wall. There was no turning back as the driver had left us to the other end. So 11 of us forced ourselves through the ordeal, with most of us taking the flying fox at the end because we really didn't hv the energy to climb the last leg down. By the time i rushed home, it was 7pm.

It was time for multi-tasking. Within 2 hours, i had to shower, cook dinner (ok, instant noodles), get the ah-yi to clean up the house, call the repairman to fix up the kitchen lights and have my conference call with the team who was waiting for me in office! N so i did everything, rushed out of the house (with half the speed cos i could barely even walk) to bring joan n mark to massage. During the massage, i had a couple of conference calls with shenzhen, beijing and qingdao offices. After my one hour of foot massage, i had to rush to the airport to pick my family up n help brenda collect her ipod. OMG. It was a total nightmare.

Since i didn't have too much time to entertain my family, i sent them off to teochew to visit my relatives for 4 days. This gave me time to go to shanghai n conduct my training. My mum's obsession with shopping is unbelievable. Fortunately, she has limited luggage weight and it stopped her from buying too many things. In the end, she had 30kg of luggage because she left 5kg behind for my younger sis to bring back when she comes in june.

Now i'm busy planning my travel schedule for May/June period. Timing is just so tight and i've got to coordinate so many people's time-tables. For now, i'm definitely going to guiyang on May 1st. The rest will need to be fixed up...

One after another

Since friday was a holiday for qingming festival, i made another impulse trip for the long weekend. This time, i went to taiyuan, mainly for the pingyao ancient city. So on thursday, i got my air tickets (seriously, china's ticketing agents are very good) and on friday early morning, we left for taiyuan.

I never realise how dirty a place can be until i got there. I'm not even the kind who's obssessed with cleanliness. At the each day, i use up at least 3-4 cottons to wipe my face and the cottons will still be black. Fortunately i only stayed there for 2 nights. Still, the city is interesting. After spending so much money on entrance fees, i've decided to make myself a student pass. It's only 5 RMB compared to the hundreds of RMB i can save! Food was horrible there. I don't understand how anyone can eat such salty food. In the end, we found comfort food from sakura inn that served western food (e.g. pizza). Of course, it came at a steep price...

For this weekend, it's just a day trip to simatai. Not going to be too adventurous so that i will have time to fix some stuffs in my house before my family arrives!

Why is winter still not over??

The holiday's over too soon. Still, I managed to take the helicopter over the grand canyon and see what national geographic had been broadcasting all these while. It was expensive but totally worth it. I'm now thinking of my next holiday plan (this coming long weekend). And also, how many days of leave I have left after this escapade.

Then it's back to boring work and jet lag. All those things in office waiting for me. I don't even want to think too much about it. Maybe it's time for me to think of moving to another location. Yup, I've only been here for less than a year, and i'm constantly thinking about going somewhere else. Damn. Maybe it's because the winter is still NOT over and hence it makes me miserable. Seriously, it's already a month past spring festival, why is the temperature still hovering at 5 degrees??????
