It rox!

Today afternoon, i had a giddy spell. I initially attributed it to my bad cold, then i realised that everyone in office was going hysterical.. earthquake!! I realised that the building was shaking slightly n it wasn't a giddy spell. Everyone started running down, with some debating whether they should take the lift. Although the big bosses also ran off themselves after urging everyone to evacuate, i remained calm n did my expense claim for the last 3 months. Come on, it's only a minor shake n today is the deadline for me to submit my $6000 expense claim! I was more concerned that the claim system would crash...

Anyway, the big boss declared that the office was closed immediately n everyone was to go home. After settling my expense claim, i took the subway back (against all odds) for dinner, then went out for massage. I guess, for lucky us in beijing, the earthquake meant knocking off much earlier, but for the unfortunate 7651 people who are confirmed dead as at 10pm, it meant lots of sorrows for their family n friends. Let's bow our heads and pray for them...

Ups and Downs

It's depressing to know that Gei had passed away from old age. To commemorate this, I decided to abstain from chicken tomorrow. For me, one day without chicken meat is a big deal. I know Kokok must be very upset too right now, and i wonder how long more he's going to last...

Just came back from guiyang. Everyone (including the ah tiongs) was amazed that my 86-year-old granny could complete the hike up and down the hundreds of stairs (some slippery) to look at some waterfall n caves. Even my friends were like feeling tired from all the walking and climbing! For me, i was having mental stress more than anything else. Totally freaking out from the idea that my grandma would slip n fall at some point in time. Fortunately, my friends, especially carol, were really great help n very considerate. 3 cheers to them!!

I'm now back to my roller-coaster life in beijing where i get last minute notice to pack n fly somewhere. For example, late this morning, i was told to fly to shanghai in the afternoon for a meeting tomorrow morning. Sigh... and i'm so losing focus on work because i'm just thinking of where to go next for my coming holidays. Err.. yeah, i know i just came back from one but i need to go for another one already!!! :)
