Out of touch

I went down to changkat just now to train for my grading n i think i made a mistake in signing up for it. I'm so out of touch! I can barely kick anymore, my pattern's in a horrible state n i hurt my hamstrings with only a few warm-up kicks. OMG. The additional weight i put on since south africa is really taking a toll on me. I need to do something abt myself.

My lunch n dinner caused me to regain another kg. Damn. At this rate, i'll just put back all the weight i lost n more, making peiqi's prophecy come true. No, it cannot happen. So should i go jogging tomorrow? But my plans are more food-related than sports-related.. Ok, i'll just do both.

It's so good to be idling n lazing at home. Why does JC want me to go back office so early next year??

Golden triangle

Lots of things happened in agra where we had our training. All kinds of events, from sad to happy to rowdy to happening! I think i contributed to 50% of the drama, but yet i wasn't the drama one. The best part was going to taj mahal. I see it so often in pictures n they say that pictures say a thousand words. Having been there, i feel that pictures totally understate the monument. Nothing i say here can bring out the majesty of the marble tomb too. It's something that people should visit if they have the chance. Really. The inside of the tomb doesn't look as good, but i'm not sure if that's because of the lack of light within.

After the official training, yoyo, leng, young n myself headed to jaipur (aka pink city) for our own tour on fri nite. By the time we got to our hotel, it was almost 1am. The 4 of us toured there till christmas eve, when leng n young left for the airport, leaving just yoyo n me behind. We headed to delhi on christmas n were pleasantly surprised by sheraton hotel's standard in delhi. The tower room was really good that comes equipped with OTO massage chair, another handheld massager n even the steps gym equipment! So i conveniently suffered from food poisoning just after christmas n used the room to the fullest. Poor yoyo had to take care of me while i threw up n purged non-stop. The hotel was very nice to make me 2 bowls of chinese congee specially n they were complimentary. Now my stomach's completely flat n i lost ALL the weight i gained in india. I'm so happy!!! Ok, my stomach's not entirely flat, but the idea is there.

I really miss singapore food. Probably will plan to look for chicken rice n all the local delicacies soon. Anyone wants to join me?

The oil is not just in their hair

Now that i'm getting used to the driving in Delhi, they tell me it's already not as bad as other parts of India.. Maybe i should check out mumbai some day? Wah.. the food here is DAMN oily n fattening! Looks like my dieting plans are going down the drain again. Hmph.

Counting up the days i'm alive

I'm now counting the number of days I survive. Will i make it till christmas? It's funny that verma keeps saying that it's safe in delhi, when every minute i feel that i'm going to die on the road. The people here drive without their wing mirrors becos they drive so closely to one another that the mirrors are an obstruction. And it's also normal to drive against the traffic, especially since there is no traffic light. Plus the labour strike along the way... OMG.

On monday, i went to JB with dehua n peiqi. Ate not very nice food for lunch, watched gridiron gang n pumped the subsidised petrol. Then rushed back to singapore to attend my god-brother's wedding dinner. Then tuesday n wednesday were spent running several errands before my flight to delhi. Why am i always so busy??

The vanishing act

Seems like my christmas cum new year's plans are evaporating as i type. According to yoyo, the resorts are all fully booked. The flights don't have good dates. No news from manu on the packages. Seems like i've to activate plan B. That is to do a road trip instead. Now i'm thinking of cameron highlands n probably a beach along the way. I'm just so flexible! N should i drive or just take a coach up? If not for my younger sis, i'd rather drive a boat up to a beach somewhere..

My mum's getting funnier. This morning she disappeared out of the house n refused to tell anyone where she's going. When you call her hp n ask, she responds with "Even you will oso wanna know where i go rite?" then hangs up on u. OMG. Is she a grandma or what?? She behaves like she's still in her teenage years.

Finally made it to the new ikea that's like less than 3km away from my house. I can't believe that it's so crowded even on a sunday morning! There's really nothing to do in singapore. I bet everyone's just going there for free parking n air-con. And the queue for food is endlessly long. That's what we spent most of our time doing. Staring at people to coerce them in leaving their tables, then join the war queue for food.

Test-drove Mark X today. Really quite impressive. Now i really wonder if i wanna spend so much money on cars again. It's a lot of money n i dun even know if i'll drive it more than 30 days in a year. Let's see...

Not talking

My mum's being ridiculous again. My grandma told me that she's pissed off with me cos i asked tammy to go with me for the movies on the beach on fri nite instead of her. So she's not talking to me again. What the heck!

Fixed all my shoes today so they no longer sound like horse shoes. Went down to sim lim sq to get a couple of fans. Now my CPU is finally under 50 degrees. It was running at 100 - 102 degrees before and I thought it felt like i was getting a roasted chip soon. Went down to logitech too for my MX duo charging station but i forgot to bring the adapter. Crap.

In the afternoon, i went with my dad n wei to check out the cars. Instead of narrowing our selection, we expanded our choices. Thanks to those damn persuasive salesmen. Every car on the road suddenly seems as good as a ferrari!! But wei still wants that mr bean car, which costs more than a 100k...

Realised that i'm totally off for patterns. I even almost forgot my own pattern! So should i still take my grading??

What people say

My china relatives just left this morning. It's funny how my grandma tells them to stay longer when she complains to us that they're staying far too long. The things people say... My relatives got themselves 16kg excess baggage n my grandma paid the $300 for them. Sighz.

My tv finally came today. After a long wait, everything was fixed up by 2pm. Taught my grandma how to use the remote control and quickly left the house with my younger sis. So many things to do! Out of the more than 10 errands, i guess i've got a couple outstanding which i'll follow-up on Saturday.

Just when i thought my entire monday is gonna be spent at JB, my younger sis had to remind me abt my god-brother's wedding dinner. Should i just take tuesday off too? I've like totally no energy to work. If not for the passport, i won't even wanna go office tomorrow! After all, i need to clear leave.

Splurge

Just before heading to Sitex, i called UOB to increase my credit limit (it had only $2 left..) by 5k. The minute they approved it, i spent it all at sitex. Surprisingly, the biggest ticket item was not computer related. It's my sony LCD 40" tv costing 3.5k. Since it came with the DVD recorder (and a $180 paragon voucher i dun use), i didn't feel so ripped off. Frankly, i was quite impressed with both Sony n JVC's LCD technologies.

Now for the fateful day of me bringing 3 old folks around singapore. I started by bringing them for chicken rice at katong for lunch. Yeah, by the time i woke up, it was time for lunch (finished my korean drama the night before that's why..). They really loved everything abt the chicken rice, even the roast duck!

So we walked around Singapore river to digest it all. Man, i'm so impressed with my own knowledge of singapore. Hahaha.... ok, i dun wanna know how many other people know that raffles founded singapore in 1819, but i remembered!! My grandma was actually amazed that i know too. Then went to ah kun n that tiny "museum" in far east sq. They decided that they were still too full, so i brought them to fort canning park. Stop laughing, singapore is really THAT boring.

After that, they decided fort canning was too hot (it's really the humidity more than anything else) so i brought them to bugis street. They joined the young kids in searching for cheap clothes n bought a couple of t-shirts for a steal. By then, my grandma decided she can't walk anymore so we went to the macau jade restaurant for drinks n desserts (just me) before heading home.

Night time was my cousin's treat at jumbo seafood. Yay, i got out of the whole thing without having to pay!! Heh. I'm now so so full. I need to exercise. I need it so badly...

Realisation

I realised that they're not my grandma's bro n wife, but her nephew n niece. Geez. Will be taking leave from Tuesday onwards n bring them around. Wonder what the itinerary should look like, since it's not everyday i bring old folks around the country!

My younger sis got me addicted to some korean drama. I think it's called sassy girl. But now i've taken a break from the show cos my latest episode bleach has completed downloading. N that's more important!! Gonna continue my bleach, then off to sitex. Sitex sitex here i come...

Jetting around

Wednesday dinner in sydney was crazy. Upon my insistence, we went to tetsuya n chalked up a 1000-dollar bill! There were just the 5 of us, but fortunately chokie was around to pay... heh. On thursday, i rushed so much to do things in order to meet my flight deadline back to brisbane from sydney. Bought a pair of boots from 9 west factory outlet n rushed to the airport. Met yoyo there before boarding the plane.

In brisbane, i got kit kat to meet gerrie n her husband who are there for their honeymoon. Had dinner together. Gave my room in hyatt to them as they didn't hv a place to sleep while i bunked in with kit kat. Next morning after breakfast n shopping for popcorn (yeah, popcorn), we sped to the airport. Once again, i got caught by some plain-car police n they warned me about issuing some warrant of arrest if i didn't pay. Did i care? No.

I finally got back to singapore. Met my relatives from Swatow at the airport for the 1st time. They're apparently my grandma's brother n wife. After taking some pictures at the airport, i quickly headed home as i was so so tired! Did my spot-check of my royce chocs in the fridge n i'm relieved they're still there. My maid said that she stopped my older sis from stealing some of them. I just guessed as much.

One of the reasons why i rushed back this weekend is for sitex. There're always some things i wanna get from IT exhibitions. I'm now trying to see if i can convince my relatives to go to sitex instead of the zoo.. since i'm tasked to bring them around! And according to my mum, everyone's taking turns to buy them dinner. Somehow, they've allocated me for monday night. Hmm... how did i get the arrow even before i know it??

It's great to be home once more. Now i'm making plans for maldives after the training in india. I really think i should drop by colombo in the process, but let's see how things go. Hopefully, i can spend christmas at somewhere nice, outside singapore.
